There's a certain balance we've yet to strike. Not necessarily having a living handed to you, but being in a situation where if a rough couple weeks knocks you out on your ass, you can meet your basic needs while you get back up on your feet.

Every other day, I see an article that either implies Trump is guaranteed reelection and we're all doomed or implies that Trump is totally fucked and we can all relax.

It's actually more likely that it wasn't printed for the US market (pasta in the US is most commonly sold in packages of 1 pound/453g), but that brand of pasta does sell to a US market which subjects them to US regulations. It seems weird to me that they would go through the effort of cheating on packaging only in some markets.

It's a lot more likely that the pictured disparity is caused by a combination of (1) the 410g figure being a nominal value with an accepted error margin, and (2) home kitchen scales not being the most precise instruments.

At least in the US, federal regulation requires the net weight printed on the packaging

Fun fact! The NHTSA requires any aftermarket replacement LED bulb be approved by them, and have noted in this letter that not a single aftermarket replacement bulb has received such approval.

As of writing this comment, LED retrofit headlights are illegal. It's just that this rule hasn't been enforced in a very long time (if ever)

You're probably doing it too hard. Done lightly enough, it will crack the shell without splitting the membrane underneath, leaving a "crater" in the surface of the shell. Then you can push a thumb into the crater to open it once the egg is over the bowl
