No it's probably corroded, so you need pipe dope, Teflon tape, channell locks, white caulk, just a small squeeze tube, and a half inch galvanized nipple, (brass is preferable but it's more expensive) also when you get the new tub spout make sure it is also threaded, the ones that tighten to copper are fairly popular so make sure you get the threaded kind.

Now the nipple should be the same size as the old one so just bring the spout with you to the store, I would also suggest grabbing a 1/2 inch size longer and a 1/2 inch size shorter, just in case. It also doesn't hurt to show one of the employees what you're looking for if you have the spout with you.

Now when it comes to installing, do about 4 wraps of Teflon around each of the 2 threads, then wipe pipe for over those threads as well. Using the channel locks, tighten it onto the spout as much as you can first, then tighten the spout onto the threads behind the wall. You of course want it to be flush with the wall but if it doesn't make it home all the way but is very close that's okay. Turn it on make sure there's no leaks, Then caulk around it afterward, most caulk you need to wait like 24 hours.

Oh I almost forgot, when tightening the spout to the wall do not use the channell lock for that, if you do you will scratch up the finish. Just use your hands to tighten.

I'm only through the first season, it's always been on my list. But yeah it's great, not what I was expecting at all.

High efficiency systems run a lot different. The exhaust doesn't get even remotely hot enough to melt them. Similar, there are gas fired water heaters that exhaust through PVC as well. Newer houses don't even have a metal B-vents/chimneys anymore since everything just vents out the side of the house on their own.

The ones that are in the pictures of the article you sent are actually effective, the ones that we use that's acceptable by code still is just a 12 inch pipe with a cap. They don't really work though because over time the air pockets full up with water so they basically become useless.

It's a high efficiency system. That's what they call for. Instead of venting into the chimney they go directly outside, one is for intake of fresh air and the other is for exhaust.

If you've got a problem with Canada gooses, you've got a problem with me

Ahh those are just air chambers which are still required in most of the locations that I work.

Haha thanks, it was the best way I could find to support the PVC, otherwise it would've been kind of a long run

Are you talking about the ones that are on a loop? That are tied into the rightmost valve? If so those are for a body spray system.

Well I watched it for righteous gemstones but the season ended so I got nothing else, they already canceled all the other stuff I love. It's wild, before all this shit started happening I used to consider it one of the better streaming platforms but that's donezo, if I didn't have it for free I would drop it.
