Classic groaner.

Sausage and egg on a plate.

  • Egg says: " You know, now he's finished burning you in that pan he's gonna come up and stab you with his fork, then chop you up with a knife"
  • Sausage says: "Bloody hell, a talking egg!!!"

A lesson in keeping idiots in suspense, whilst at the same time promoting frantic web searching for answers which simply make your head swell up to the size of a giant orange.

Well done.

Now fork off!

This is true - we're all posting here from our own corners of the Fediverse.

Squabbles has no searchable content...

Half the good part of Reddit is that after you made your post, you could expect people NOT on Reddit to find it by doing a search.

This means if you were answering a question or creating a guide, or just telling a joke that made you laugh, that other people would find it.

Reddit is the biggest thing since Google - but they are both EVIL.

In the past, Google search could find results from many separate websites, before the 'Unification' came in - Yahoo Answers was a big one I remember, started well but went to spam.

Reddit, Facebook etc had contained communities.

YouTube is also extremely evil. I avoid this mostly by not signing in or following content within Youtube - instead, I visit a channel I want to follow and add the RSS feed. As alternatives come up (e.g. a YouTube creator has a NSFYT version - and lets face it, YouTube will block you for all kinds of petty reasons) then I can add a feed from that platform too.

We should go back to DIY aggregation - using Feeds from sources.

This is a little bit like saying 'What does a pen do, apart from write?'

It also looks very cool - cool enough that even people don't find things cute will actually change their normal ping to this JUST because it's cute.

However, if you like pings you could also go with gping for a graph... but they're all just bloat - better stick with fping, right? ;)

Basically it's called "Fuck You" pricing - there are apps for iOS which charged folks for a year contract using their product, and their costs went up.

It's like I wanna buy your favourite car, worth $40,000, and you don't want to let me have it. You don't say "No way!", instead saying "No problem, the price is $2,000,000" and you laugh and say "Screw these addicts, they'll just carry on without the car - and if they do pay, then we'll get even richer".

The way they said 'never mind, we don't need to change anything - they'll be back' means that they basically don't value their community, viewing us as a captive audience in a closed internet.

The army of unpaid moderators are nothing more than a thorn in their side. If they don't like it, they should just fork off...

Just install pingu. You must learn the basics when you install an operating system...

I'd do...

  • yay pingu
  • paru pingu
  • pamac install pingu

They'd all work.

Then I just did pingu lemmy.world
