It all depends on the amount of devices you need to migrate. For me the best solution was to start over (27 devices). Took some time but it was a blessing when I managed to get new ones in.

From HA Forum:

Ok, just decided to pull the trigger. Based on my experience…

Go to the configuration on your current ZHA. Select “Download Backup” to get a current backup saved somewhere. Select “Migrate Radio”. In the next section tell it you want to change devices. It will wipe your old device and tell you to unplug it. I unplugged my old device and plugged in my new device The process asked me which device I wanted to add and I picked the new Sonoff. It asked if I wanted to restore a recent backup or upload one myself, I uploaded the backup I downloaded in step 2. It said I needed to change the IEEE address and that this was a permanent change, I said yes. Everything is working. No reboot of HA… Just worked! Thank you to all the people who made this function work! I’ve wanted to replace this stick with a newer one for years now!

You could migrate the hue hubs to the Zigbee USB. I managed to get some of the oldest to connect after a struggle. But it works like a charm.

For me i did. It was buggy on a rasp all the time. Plus from time to time memory would clog up and the instance would stop functioning. Haven't had any issues since upgrading to the nuc. It just works and I migrated all devices to USB radios. So Bluetooth, Zigbee, zwave, serial power meter, serial heat meter, serial ups, everything just connects without hubs or anything.

Would definitely recommend! Just get a cheap second hand one on eBay or so.

I haven't tried this method. For me relying on Bluetooth presence feels buggy. I'm in a household with multiple persons also without watches. Mine is charging on ground floor as well so it wouldn't work for me.

There are some presence options you could consider like Zigbee motion sensors (cats included), cameras with local person detection or all in combination with Bluetooth.

It's whatever would work for you!

It's working like a charm. The developer is doing the best he can to fix and improve daily. I'm super impressed!
