Which instances are filled with that filth? I've not seen any of the such...
Status symbol. That, and many people are horrible with their devices. They drop them and scratch them, crack the screen, chip them.
They abuse them and load them with tons of apps. Fill up the phone with videos and photos. The battery holds less of a charge because many people use their phones as computers and will constantly be cycling it dead 3 times a day or more.
Apps update and use more resources and space. They could just clean up their phone, do a reset, and have a case for protection but choose not to and just buy a new one.
It's stupid I agree
Try adjusting the size of your text. Mine doesn't do this.
๐คฆโโ๏ธ Doy. Thanks!
Even the patched version doesn't have NSFW though
If two of the same topic is posted, the one in the instance with more people will be higher on the active list than the other, so if you're subbed to both, you'll see that one first and interact with it. I've seen duplicate topics across several of my subs on Reddit regularly.
It's about making it more difficult to get access to download all of Twitter for use in training AI. chatGPT was trained using Twitter and Reddit. And large language models like chatGPT are HUGE money makers and have insane potential. The AI industry is exploding right now, so Twitter, Reddit, and others are adjusting how you can access their content so they can charge big companies money for the right to use their data.
The answer is AI. Amongst other things. Reddit is about to go public and wants everyone on their main app for advertising and tracking. Twitter is dealing with hosting issues with Google.
Plus AI companies are extracting content from Twitter and Reddit to train their AI models like chatGPT which is a huge money maker, and these platforms aren't getting any money from it so they're trying to make it more difficult to get access to it. They want companies like OpenAI and Stability and Microsoft and Google to pay large sums of money for access to their content to train AI on.
Mobilism is great for stuff like this...
I mean, petty crime is almost non-existent in Saudi Arabia. Their system of punishment is horrible, but it seems to be effective in at least some manner. I wonder if regular and public reminders of the punishment for certain crimes would do more of a deterrent than just the threat of years of incarceration.
