No, honestly, as much as I dislike every Pope, that one wasn't his fault.
Hitler Youth was not optional, and they absolutely hurt and abused children under their care. I know because I know someone who was forced into that situation and suffers lasting trauma from it.
Everywhere the Catholic church has ever been, it's consistently fucked everyone over. It is a leviathan of abuse and harmful politics.
