I'm not knowledgeable on these things but I believe what you're referring to are the cooling towers, no?
They're there to help maintain the temperature of the reaction in the core. If you don't keep the temperature down, it can start to runaway, which is what leads to a meltdown.
But as I say, that's mostly guesswork. I don't really know what I'm talking about.
What's everyone's preference at the moment?
I've been using Jerboa since I migrated and it's been great.
Installed Liftoff today, but it seems less polished at the moment, though admittedly I've not yet had a chance to dive into the features properly.
Haven't yet touched thunder.
I bought a gorgeous set of black metal dice with gold numbers, with a mindflayer theme.
Can't read them for shit when actually playing.
I then proceed to buy a big bag of about 8 individual, basic sets with nice big numbers. They usually end up getting shared out to the group each session now ๐
I'm patiently waiting for someone (anyone) I know to decide to throw out an old laptop.
Gonna bite their hand off for it, install Linux and proceed to fuck around and find out.
Da comrade, we must rise up and sieize the memes of production!
No wait, we are the memes of production.
Distribution, then?
Whatever, just start sieizing!
I adore Metal Gear Solid 2 when it released (and I still do), but a few years ago when I went back to it after having not touched it for years and years, it struck me just how choppy the flow of the game is, especially at the start of the Big Shell.
You're constantly interrupted by cutscenes and codec calls, almost every time you go through a door, and some of those cutscenes or codecs last for a very long time.
I don't mind it, given the story is interesting and the script is good (in my opinion, at least), but it really stuck out to me in a way it never had before. It takes a fair while before you're given somewhat free-reign without constant interruption (though you're never really THAT far from another cutscene in MGS2).
I can't say I'm gonna post anything, but I'm enjoying content. You guys are doing good work ๐
I really need to replay this. I haven't since it released, but I had a blast at the time.
Yeah, I'm extremely skeptical of anyone who now voluntarily steps up to be a mod on Reddit in the wake of everything that's happened.
You should be wary of people who want power that badly.
Sounds like I'm in for a treat then! I'm really looking forward to it.
I'm literally reading it for the first time at the moment - about 100 pages in.
So far it's very intriguing, and I'm sure all the best is yet to come. It's presentation and structure alone is compelling.
That being said, I'd be slow to recommend it so far. It's nigh impenetrable in some parts ๐
