I've got a cheap Wohome soundbar from Amazon that I've been using for a while now, and there's no option for this in the PS5's Media Remote settings, so I've had to use two remotes when doing media playback.

I was wondering if anybody knew if there's a compatible option in the menu that'd work with this soundbar? I'd love to be able to control the volume without having to switch remotes.

Does your TV have an hdmi ARC port?

I believe one of my ports is ARC, but currently all 3 are in use. Though I may possibly be able to free up the ARC port. I've considered doing this before, but really would rather not give up my last port, though I suppose I may have to do this after all if I can't find a compatible code.

You plug your soundbar into the arc port and then the soundbar usually has a passthrough HDMI to give you the port back. Try seeing if you soundbar has an HDMI input

if this HDMI device link setting is turned on, then your soundbar isn't reacting to the HDMI volume control messages. sucks but a lot of them just don't work well with this feature and there isn't really much anyone can do

As far as I know you can't set the remote to directly control the soundbar's volume, I have the same issue. Some TVs allow you to control the volume on an output like a soundbar with the TV remote's volume controls (which means you'd be able to use the media remote), but mine doesn't, just tells me sound is going through an output instead without changing it.
