Heh, I did the same thing after finishing Xenoblade 3's DLC.

Cabo looks like a fun game. Seems a bit similar to Uno.

Well, I haven't even started RDR 2 yet, so no judgements from me πŸ˜€.

Have fun with PokΓ©mon!

It's completely fine to take a break from gaming (or any other hobby) now and then. Hope you feel better soon.

That's my biggest issue with these older games, too much grinding. I was hoping the remake would have reduced the need somewhat.

Heh, Is the Bomb attack difficult to pull off? Or just not worth it?

As a casual Monster Hunter fan, I guess changes might be for people like me. More story and better drops, both are things casual fans should like.

Those fireflies were in World too, but I don't recall them as much of an issue, maybe they changed them in Wilds.

What are your PC specs? Maybe you need a good machine to not get any performance issues.

"Tinker with my devices" can be pretty fun. I have spent dozens if not hundreds of hours "playing" that.

Oh, that's sad. Let's hope they keep trying until they fully fix it.

Mainly waiting for Xenoblade Chronicles X, so didn't want to commit to any long game, but ended up starting lots of different games. Some of these I started previous week but forgot to mention.

Still playing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations .

Have reached the very end of case 2. The case is really good, and if rest of the cases are similar, I can understand why people consider it one of the best game in the series.

Going to focus on the game now, to finish it before 20th.

Finished Alan Wake Remastered.

I shared my complaints last week, nothing more to add. Even with those issues, loved the game. Specially the narrative.

Also played both DLCs, and then watched the Control's AWE DLC let's play (I played it when I played Control) to finally understand the context of what's happening.

Don't want to spoil the ending, but it wasn't what I was expecting, but it makes sense. Looking forward to playing Alan Wake 2, and see where the story goes from here.

Still playing Paper Trail on tablet (Netflix sub).

Not much to add here, the gameplay is fun. Slowly playing it for 5-10 before sleeping. Recommended to all puzzle fans.

Playing Trine 2 on PS. Played the first one on Switch, IIRC and while I enjoyed the game, never got around to playing around any of the sequels. Trine 2 was given away as PS+ monthly game quite a while back, so playing that now.

Game is similar to the first one, you have three characters, you can change to any of them on the fly. One is a mage, that can summon boxes to help with the puzzles, one is a knight that has a shield and can do melee combat, he can also break some walls etc. third is a thief who can attack with a bow and has a grappling hook type thingy.

Using all three you have to solve a series of puzzles and fight through enemies. There are tons of checkpoints so combat is never an issue, even if you die, you can just run back 5 seconds to the checkpoint to revive all your characters.

Puzzles are also not that difficult, they are mostly just how to open the next door, or reach some ledge, but some of them still stumped me for a bit.

I am on 4th or 5th level. Generally when I start playing on PS, play one level of the game, before switching to whatever else what I want to play. Should be done with it soon-ish.

Started Devil May Cry. The first one.

Always wanted to try the series, to gave it a try, but the game is really old and the controls feel very clunky. I am stuck at the first boss, Phantom, at level 3. Not ready to give up on that. But not spending too much time on it either. Will try it a few times more but if can't beat it, may just drop the game.

I was expecting more, since I enjoyed playing Bayonetta, but this is a much older game, so it makes sense for it to be so clunky.

Playing Just Cause 3 on PS5.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy the game, but I have played about 4-5 hours yet and enjoying destroying stuff and liberating areas. There is a basic story and you get missions, but eventually it end up as "liberate these many more areas" before next mission.

Surprisingly, the environment is not fully destructible. After hearing so much about how much things explode in the game I was expecting structures to be fully destructible, like Red Faction games. Still, not bad for game of it's time.

Movement is lots of fun. While you can take over any car, bike, ship or plane, you also have a grapple hook, wing suit and parachute! Which are all lots of fun.

That's all on my end. Unless I forgot some game again. What about all you? What have you been playing?

Releasing in September

This kind of proves OP's point. That both games are very different. Which one you like of course depends on your taste.

[–] slimerancher 2 points 3 days ago

Yeah, I am not much into anime-based games, but this looks good. A modern Punch-out!

A Punch-out like game. Releasing in September 2025

Launching March 28

Has anyone played any of these games?

I saw (trailer of) the Netflix show, and I know there are some games in the series, but I don't have much idea about how it is.

[–] slimerancher 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Oooh, nice.

[–] slimerancher 4 points 5 days ago

Looking forward to them!

This is a great. I somehow missed your first two but went back and read it.

I like the format, if you can, you should keep this going.

The official game page for Super Soccer on the Switch Online Super Nintendo service notes how this title will be removed from this digital game library on 27th March 2025 (or 28th March, depending on your location). The title is listed as a Spike Chunsoft release.

Nintendo: "This game will no longer be available starting 3/27/25 at 6:00 p.m. PDT."

From another article (linked in above article), talking about Famicom version:

Nintendo: "The title "Super Formation Soccer" (Spike Chunsoft) included in "Super Famicom Nintendo Switch Online" will end distribution at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 28, 2025. After distribution ends, even those who have already downloaded "Super Famicom Nintendo Switch Online" will no longer be able to use it."

Dropped Pankapu.

While the visuals were vibrant and looked great, didn't enjoy the game a lot. Level design was a bit annoying, In second world there were underground levels where you can only see in a circle around you, didn't enjoy that, also, paired that with non-linear levels, you can't easily explore without taking damage or dying. Not to mention upgrades / collectables are usually not in the main path and you don't know which path is main path, so you can accidentally leave them behind (but can't go back) and have to play the whole level again to collect them.

It's not a bad game though, just not for me.

Started Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations (what a long name!), third game in the Ace Attorney trilogy pack.

Have only played the first case yet, and it was nice to see the returning faces, and some background info about Phoenix. It was also hilarious, specially when Dahlia takes the stand.

Playing Alan Wake Remastered on PS5.

I usually don't play horror games, but loved Control and the DLCs so wanted to check it out. I am surprised to say I am loving the game. For one, it's not actually horror, more of a psychological thriller, with some horror elements. And while enemies might suddenly jump you from the corners, there aren't really many jump scares, if any at all.

While gameplay and story are good, the sound is great in the game. From the narration to OST, sound effects, and songs at the end of each episode.

I have some issue with the game too, but I believe that are mostly to do with the genre of the game. Like, I would hoard all the ammo and flashlight batteries, but the game, for narrative reason make me lose all of that. And it does it constantly. Though, the good thing is, it made me not hoard stuff, and use my best stuff when in a bind.

Another issue is, sometimes enemies keep coming and you just have to run to the next point, I don't like this game design. I want to beat everything and move on ahead, but it's not too much of an issue.

Overall, loving the game, and Remedy has entered my list of favourite studios.

Also started Paper Trail on tablet (Netflix sub).

I generally prefer not to play on mobile, but this game felt like touch controls would be perfect for it, so tried it on my tablet and am enjoying it. It's a really nice puzzle game, where you have to fold paper to make the path for the protagonist to make it to the other side. It's not super difficult (how many different ways can you fold a paper?) but it's not very easy either. There were some levels which took me a while to solve.

Haven't played too much yet, but am enjoying it so going to keep playing it.

So, what about all you? What have you been playing?
