This is quite an old picture but indeed, the train was back up and running when I was there in January 2023.

This ride scared the absolute crap out of as a kid.

I'm such a chicken. I'm in my 50's and I don't ride roller coasters. My wife and I were in MK in 2015 and in line for the Dwarfs Mine Train. I was getting nervous freaking out because it's a roller coaster.

Then I noticed the 5 year old in front of us in line. Not scared. Excited.

Figured, "fake it 'til you make it". Got on, rode it, enjoyed it.

Did it again in 2021. I still don't like roller coasters, except the ones I like.

I'm similar. I'll ride anything at Disney (except tower of terror and rockin'). I often have to remind myself of the little kids in line around me (though little kids also ride tower of terror and I definitely will not do that so there are limits to that reasoning!).

First time I rode Tower was a long time ago and I loved it. Then, after we had kids, I wanted them to ride it and like it, so I told them I'd pay them each $20 to ride, and then another $20 if they didn't like it.

What I didn't realize is they changed the ride and made it a bit more random since the last time I rode it. Also, when you ride with kids and a kid on each side of you wants to hold your hand, you can't hold on, so I ended up flying out of the seat without any control and that freaked me out.

When we got off, I owed two kids another $20 each. The other kid wanted the extra $20, but he wanted to ride it again, so he couldn't pretend he didn't like it.

I've since rode it several times, and I'm back to liking it... as long as I can hold on.

You'll do tower but you don't like roller coasters! I hate the drop feeling, which is my least favorite part of roller coasters. So, intense coasters and tower are both out for me. Though, I wish I could get over it and enjoy it.

What worked for me is just a bunch of mind over matter BS.

I keep telling myself I'll enjoy it, and reminding myself that the apparent danger isn't real.

I think I just start to believe it 😉

Besides, I drive to work in Philly every day. Compared to that, a roller coaster shouldn't be scary at all.
