I don't use cable television but have a current TV with internet and a dtv antenna because why bother. PBS hasn't worked in forever. I saw a 3 year old post on how shitty the KCTS programming is, could they be not even broadcasting? Usually I can manually find if it's a low signal, but I can't even find a signal. It's at flat 0%. I go back and check every few months and nada.

Have you done a channel re-scan recently? Broadcasters sometimes change frequencies.

I've done that every few months and then try to manually put them in. This has been a years long thing and they call themselves PBS 9 so I assume that means they're still on channel 9?

KCTS will always be channel 9, but which radio frequency "channel 9" corresponds to can change. In the analog days, you could reasonably surmise that channel 4 was a lower frequency than channel 9, but that's not necessarily the case with digital broadcasting. It's the metadata contained within the digital signal that determines what channel number you see on the TV, not the actual radio frequency.

I had no idea that it's just a number, but now that you say that it makes complete sense and I'm an idiot, lol.

I get them perfectly fine. I have a shitty flat antenna in the window of my living room, going to an ancient Hauppage. I'm in West Seattle.

Well that's good to know, maybe we're in a pocket that doesn't get the signals.

KCTS broadcasts from the Capitol Hill towers. Are you able to point it in that direction?

Also, both PBS And KCTS tend to make their (fantastic) programming available for free on YouTube for both live and prerecorded content.

We're in Fremont in a valley which I think might be causing the issues. I'll look for the youtube stuff if I'm interested in something, thanks.
