I'm so happy to see Lando up there again. Hopefully this continues the rest of the year, he deserves a decent car

It's got me super excited. Can't help feel that Lando has been in a bit of a rut with the car not being great, and this has given me a dose of hopium. Both he and Oscar will have the upgrades come next weekend, which could solidify us back towards the midfield.

Norris p4 and p3 is very encouraging. Hopefully he can keep the pace in the race as well. Also hopefully the car has actually gotten some upgrades and not just because it's cool

Yeah. Really happy with McLaren of late. A shame for Oscar, but those upgrades certainly helping the boys up there. Hopefully they'll hold their constructor spot. Doubt they'll catch Alpine, but it's technically possible.

Commentary did say that Lando's car got some improvements and it looks like they're working for him

I have given Sprint Races a fair go now and I can safely say I still hate them.

[–] Coelacanth 2 points 1 year ago

I don't even mind the sprint race itself, it's whatever to me, but I hate what it does to the race weekend. I miss the build-up over the weekend, keeping up with upgrades during free practices and getting excited for quali until finally the hype culminates on Sunday. The quali yesterday wasn't even uneventful but I just can't get into it on a Friday for some reason. The whole flow of the weekend is disrupted.

Gotta say, I didn't expect Kmag to get dismantled in quali by Hulk this season

Hulk has been consistently feeding KMag his lunch, and I didn’t expect it either.

I reckon they’re probably fairly similar in ability tbh. This year’s car definitely suits Hulk’s style better though.

I missed the session what happened to Merc?

[–] aard 1 points 1 year ago

Hamilton just never got a proper lap in, and Russell's hydraulics went at the end of Q1 so he never even set a Q2 time. Just a dire session for them.

I thought they would be more or less equal

Unbelievable to see where lando is after how torrid the season has been so far
