On Reddit, 195 was the original and 196 was the sequel after 195 closed. Here on lemmy, this was the original 196 alternative, but one opened up on blahaj.zone and it's like three times as popular at this point, so I renamed this community to 195 to remain distinct and also to be a homage to the Reddit community that started it all. Tldr: same style content, different communities

195/196 are shitposting communities derived from eponymous subreddits. The rule is that, each time you visit the community, you have to post something before leaving (whatever the quality).
r/195 is the original subreddit, and r/196 is the unofficial successor since r/195 was closed
The main thing about them is that the rule of those communities is that you must post something before you leave, could be anything which is why it seems so random.
