I'd love to try it but something about it not being open source in the current Lemmy ecosystem doesn't sit well with me. I'm sure many others wouldn't really care and that is absolutely 100% fine as well!

It's a start I guess.
Right now the Lemmy community is in 'construction mode' moving houses from Reddit.
Before we get all our fancy stuff renovated, we need a couple of air mattresses to lie on the ground.
Connect can serve that.
Oh of course, I'm totally fine with construction mode. My personal issue is with a closed source app when there are about a dozen open source alternatives. I feel encouraging (i.e. using) it is a step in the wrong direction for the Lemmy ecosystem. But to each their own, as long as folks are happy, it's all good ๐
I love the renovation idea. :D
I've been using it since last week and I'm really enjoying the experience. Almost every day there's an update and at the current time it's super snappy and responsive.
Highly recommend
I have it installed for some days already, and every now and then give it a try, but couldn't get used to it.
I still miss Jerboa, but LiftOff has been good enough for now.
Trying liftoff now. It looks great!
I tried thunder but it can't access my own posts and comments or replies so that's a bummer. The UI was super slick though.
Liftoff is more polished than connect but I think connect will be great in coming updates too. These guys are doing amazing work..
I am just getting more excited for Sync For Lemmy tbh.
Thunder does look gorgeous, but it only worked for a few hours and now it won't load anything but my profile :(
It's a good thing we can be excited about so many new apps though, diversity is a strength!
