SteamDeck is the best purchase i made in a long while

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago

Steam deck is shockingly good, it's insane how well they nailed rev1. It's not a perfect device but to get into one for $400 I think they made all the right compromises

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Don't do that to them

[–] MegaUltraChicken 6 points 1 year ago

I friggin love mine. It's a lifesaver when I have to travel for work and am stuck in a hotel or if I want to hang out in the living room or in bed and game. I've always had really good experiences with Valve hardware. Loved my steam link and still have 3 steam controllers too.

[–] Donjuanme 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

You really do though, especially if you're running a 3+year laptop or 5+year desktop.

[–] iliketurtles 4 points 1 year ago

Will shit. It's tempting but I think I would just continue to use my PC instead. I'm home quite a bit.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

That's the part that keeps me from doing it. While portability is nice, I have a really great desktop with an ultra wide. That ultra wide in particular is what makes PC gaming really great for me. I think I'd only use it on longer trips, which isn't that often.

Not gonna buy it… not gonna buy it… not gonna buy it

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Aw lawd hold me back; I've been battling that temptation for months now while it was at normal retail pricing - a discount is added temptation I absolutely did not need.

No, Who's on first.

I was so skeptical about it but it has been amazing. Really hard to overstate. I've been travelling a lot and gaming a ton on it and it's just so... nice.

Forwarding my comment from another thread:

This is a great sale, I'm a bit jealous that I own everything I want lately. Some highlights:

  • Ori Will of the Wisps for $8
  • CrossCode for $6
  • Hollow Knight for $7.5
  • Monster Train + DLC for ~$13
  • Mortal Kombat 11 for $5
  • Little Nightmares 2 for $10
  • Oxygen Not Included for $8.5
  • Control Ultimate Edition for $10
  • Devil May Cry 5 for $10
  • Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition for $5
[–] axtualdave 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Control Ultimate Edition for $10

I picked this up for the xbox a while back. One of the most engaging games I've played in a long time.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I had an absolute blast playing control... I had such a big smile on my face with the metal music part, oh so much fun!!!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

That is the best part and honest one of the best parts of gaming in general.

Kinda reminds me of burning the weed fields in Far Cry 3.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

DMC5 for 10 bucks is insane.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Oh damn CrossCode for 6$? I've actually looked at it recently (like a day or two ago) it looked cool. I have to think about getting it. Perchance.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I found the dialog to be too awkwardly written. Couldn't stick with it

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

One of the best games I've played in the past few years, the story reaaaaally picks up in the middle so it might be a slow start on that area. Luckily combat and puzzles are quite fun

Just dropped a crisp fiver on Oblivion, figured 17 years of people telling me to play it is enough reason to give it a shot

[–] sota2077 5 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Just wait until you buy the sequel ;)

[–] user1919 5 points 1 year ago

It will take another 17 years.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think you're mistaken. If they released a sequel to Oblivion, I must have missed it. What system is it on!?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I remember that game but I forgot its name sadly. I do remember that it is playable on pretty much every device basically from Consoles, PC, its even on the Switch! Perchance.

[–] iliketurtles 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

It's pretty fun. The side quests are great. I spent way to much time with the Dark Brotherhood lol. Easily my most played Elder Scrolls.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Playing this on Xbox 360 for the first time felt truly magical. Are you going to do vanilla or with mods? I wouldn't mind revisiting it and seeing what the mods are like, actually.

[–] crr10 2 points 1 year ago

My brother had knee surgery right when this game came out, he put over 500 hours into it by the time he had recovered. Definitely worth $5!

[–] pathief 19 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Tempted to get a Steam Deck...

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago

If you bought us all a Steam Deck, we could play together...

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago

It's a fantastic system!

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

It's worth it.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago

Titanfall 2 is less than 5 dollars right now. Link. You can also use a community mod client to play on private servers fixing pretty much all the issues playing multiplayer.

[–] toxicbubble 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

GoG has their summer sale as well!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Oooo DRM free!

[–] Donjuanme 3 points 1 year ago

Fuck. Thankfully it goes beyond payday and landlords payday.

[–] TheTechNerd 2 points 1 year ago

Some good discounts

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Instantly bought Project Zomboid finally (after having "owned" it for half a decade by now). Am currently deciding if I should buy Far Cry 3 &| 4. Perchance. If someone can vouch for Far Cry 5 I might take a look at that as well.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Jeez I only "owned" it for like a year before buying it. Why did you hold out so long?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I only became 18 last year, I'm now fresh out of school and haven't received my first paycheck yet. Before that I barely had more than 10-20 € at a time because my allowance wasn't very high.
The fact that I couldn't open a bank account before I became 18 complicated things further.

But I knew that I wanted to buy it within the first few hours of playing it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Understandable, have a nice day.

[–] jetsetdorito 1 points 1 year ago

Ugh I wanted to buy Oxenfree for some friends but it's not on sale
