Israel and Palestine Politics Discussion

The sole purpose of this community is to discuss Israeli and Palestinian issues. It is not the place for hurling insults, rehashing grudges, or making up history. Any conversation that veers into the "if only your people had" realm will be deleted or locked right away. I started this community in the potentially fruitless hope that we may have a civil conversation about this issue.

Rules:

  1. References to historical events must include a reputable source. The definition of reputable is up to the mods. Keep that in mind.
  2. Articles from reputable sources only.
  3. No name-calling. That's what DMs are for. /s
  4. Keep it in English. If I don't understand the word, it gets removed. Obvious exceptions would be the use of proper names and references. For example, "wadi" when used to refer to a place is acceptable.
  5. Discussions that are heading into the probability of becoming a flame war will be locked.
  6. Repeat offenders will be forced to find another community.
  7. Anti-Zionism is ok. Anti-Semitism is not.
  8. Whataboutism is for toddlers. Try to grow up.
  9. Posting articles about current events is encouraged. Posting the same story from 20 different sources is not.
  10. Posting an article purely for the purpose of saying "Look what monsters they are" is discouraged unless it can generate an honest discussion. This is probably the most difficult rule to follow.
  11. No calling anyone a terrorist.
  12. No YouTube links. Some of us can read.

Mm, interesting news.

Are there any updates on water? Is it still wet?

Sheesh. Wasn't expecting it to be so clean cut, ao this is news to me. I've heard most Hamas leaders do not live in the Gaza Strip but in Qatar. In mansions. So Hamas is not only an evil that can be used to justify Israeli violence - but controlled opposition - because they don't defend Palestinians from the violence either. Have I got this right? They really don't care. That's so sad.

On top of that, Hamas has an estimated 60 MILES of tunnels and structures under the Gaza Strip. 60 Miles of potential shelter for civilians. What I don't understand, is why 2.2 million Palestinians haven't turned on Hamas at this point. Being Hamas is only 30 thousand (IDF Estimate, and probably a lot less now) strong.

Out of the 2.2 million, half of them are children. The other half is probably too busy trying to stop said children from being slaughtered by missile strikes to start a revolution.

The lack of a revolution, combined with public support for intifada is killing their children. Israel's response to such a bloody attack on their civilians should be unsurprising.

Thats a reallt interesting question, that I havent heard anyone else ask. Ive seen people say Palestinians are very dissatisfied with Hamas... But actually force Hamas to be useful to them? 🤔

Surprisingly, I will keep blaming the ones sending missiles directly into hospital and refugee camps for the deaths.

Not the people using them as human shields and firing from behind them?

Cool. That makes both sides in this war. Wouldn't it be nice if either of them did care?

Why isn't Palestine using the resources Israel withholds from them to build bomb shelters to protect from the missiles Israel shoots at them?
