The email was read in response to a question regarding whether or not Call of Duty could be ported to the Switch (or its successor).

"Given closer alignment of Gen 8 platforms and our previous offerings on PS4 and Xbox One, it's reasonable to assume we can make something compelling for NG (next generation) Switch as well." - Bobby Kotick

So, nearer to PS4 and Xbox One level of power.

What do you all think about it?

Makes sense if it's gonna be another handheld/hybrid. I don't think it would be bad. Hopefully they will stick to OLEDs as well.

But let's wait and see. I still find it a bit vague to safely conclude what the specs will be.

Yeah, I agree. Usually I don't care about such comments, but it's the first few mentions of next Nintendo console, so a bit excited. ๐Ÿ˜€

Modern games really have to drop polygon counts to be be playable on an XBox One.

If it's a handheld / hybrid console, it of course can't compete with latest home consoles when it comes to the raw power, and I don't think we can expect that either. Even then, if it's true, it looks like a good jump from current power.

his comments sounded like he wasn't completely sure

that being said, a handheld on the level of a ps4 is about the best you can do without prices getting out of control and/or no battery life
