Suns believe Ayton’s value to the franchise is at an all-time high with the additions of Beal and Durant. Phoenix wants to see them play together.

I feel like this statement translates to "his market value is at an all time low, we need to try and rehabilitate value with a new coach before shipping him away"

That's tough, we'll see. Ayton obviously doesn't want to be there and it's pretty clear that it's affecting his effort.

Can the Suns sign anyone to fill out the roster since they're over the cap? This is a really expensive group of 4.

Just league minimums I believe, maybe a midlevel exception

just minimums, I don't think they can use any MLE since they're over the 2nd apron. I assume this means they have some vet free agents identified who want to come there. They also won't be able to sign any free agents on the buyout market later in the season.

they're gonna need some guys to come out of retirement just to fill their depth-chart

Seems like not the best move, but we’ll see. They still have a huge depth problem, but I suppose rotations are really tight come playoffs anyway. Still think Ayton is a bit soft and doesn’t play like he really cares about the sport more than the check.

Sounds like they can't flip him for the high return they want. Suns roster confuses the hell out of me, so it'll definitely be interesting to see what they do to fix their depth problem.
