In a surprising and controversial move, the government has introduced a new national holiday that has left parents in a frenzy and employers infuriated. The holiday, officially known as “National Daycare Closure Day,” has caused frustration among working parents across the country. This day is chosen randomly each year, without prior notice, and seems to serve no purpose other than to inconvenience parents.

The terrible thing is that this has to be marked as satire, because I wouldn't put it past many officials to do oddball things that harm everyone but themselves. They have a good running history of it.

We're a month into school, and my kids have already had three days off (one actually holiday - Labor Day), and two half days (not including the one early dismissal day per week when they get out two hours earlier). Next week is conference week, so kids are out at 11:30 all week long.
