Huntington Beach police are searching for a motorist they believe intentionally struck bicyclists in three separate incidents that occurred in less than an hour Sunday evening. Two riders were injured, and the third was killed.

All three incidents happened in Huntington Beach in an area bordered by Heil Avenue, Edwards Street, Warner Avenue and Springdale Street.

Police are searching for the unidentified driver of a black Toyota four-door sedan that sustained front passenger-side bumper damage, according to witness reports.

“We believe that the incidents are related because the three locations are close in proximity and also based on the victims’ and witnesses’ statements,” said Jessica Cuchilla, a Huntington Beach police spokesperson. “They all described a similar vehicle.”

Obejas said he was nearly run off the road six months ago during a group ride on the Palos Verdes Peninsula with 40 cyclists. A truck driver screamed at the group of riders, referencing his hatred of President Biden, a cycling enthusiast, and nearly hitting Obejas. “He kept yelling, ‘Biden sucks and you suck’ — and, man, we’re just a group of people in their 50s and 60s going out for a ride,” Obejas said. “It’s scary sometimes.”

Lol what the f is wrong with those people

They are mentally ill. Those are not the actions or speech of a sane person.

I dunno. Some people are completely sane and still just shitbags.

Lots of people voted for trump specifically because they wanted to make the world a worse place.

I agree, but I think a significant portion of the population has become genuinely detached from reality. They may be awful people too, of course.

As a mentally ill person who dislikes cyclists (primarily because the infrastructure is not set up for it, at all; and a few bad apples who don't realize how fragile the human body is when ignoring traffic laws) I would never purposely terrorize or hurt another human being, even if they are slowing down my commute drastically.

Please stop adding to the stigma of the disabled. Its not like we chose this shit, its set me back by at least a decade professionally trying to find the right treatment, coupled with job losses due to having to prioritize things like just not killing myself that day, and its not a fun time.

Was it Catholic calm, still, restful, peaceful and natural or Protestant calm, still, restful, peaceful and natural?
