Hello curly gurls. After a decade of straightening my hair, I am embracing my natural hair texture and returning to the curly life. A lot of things are very new for me.

My question is, how do you put up your hair for things like the gym? I usually brush it (!) into a bun. This will obviously break up the curls and ruin them. But my hair is too heavy and hot to work out without putting it up. What do?

Messy bun. No brush. Unfortunately I sweat too much to preserve curls. I’m showering afterwards

Yeah I sweat too and I live in a very hot climate :/

I put my hair into a pony tail and then use a head band to keep my bangs in check.

How about twisty bun(s) secured with satin scrunchies? No brush, just twist with your fingers - shake out when you’re done. That’s what I do as a quick fix before I sleep if I can’t be bothered.

Hey!! For the record, the sub is curly hair. I'm a guy, should I be here XD?

Also I would braid or do some other type of curly-made hairstyle. It means you will have to keep it up but my hair is not so heavy. I can make a bun without brushing

Haha sorry for some reason I thought gurls would make it more gender nooch? I just like to rhyme

Tbh my hair isn't long enough to braid yet but I'll keep that in mind

Ty!! I need more advices on how to deal with it. I never had it long before, this is the 2nd year I use it longer

Pony tail or folded bun, but I also have an undercut so I don't have to worry about gathering the hair from the sides/back of my head.

I just high ponytail it in a scrunchie no brushing. If too long leave a loop, if too heavy low ponytail but usually high pony.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll probably have to wait. My hair is too short to get in a high pony without a brush
