Hard agree, but it was mercantilism not capitalism. Distinctively different due to reliance in trade circles, colonial holdings and exploitation of overseas resources.

Which is proto capitalism.
Mercantilism is when the rich have sugar, capitalism is when you have too much sugar.
Can confirm, gotta cut back on my sugar intake
Well, kinda not really. Capitalism and free trade spawned in opposition of mercantilism.
Idk exploitation of overseas resources is more efficient an widespread than ever.
As is reliance on trade circles. I literally just read an article about how climate change is threatening the Panama Canal, as well as heavily trafficked rivers like the Mississippi and the Yangtze, which would have a huge global impact.
We also still have colonial holdings, and even the places that aren't colonies anymore are still exploited
Unrelated, but I spent way too many attempts trying to figure out what POTC is before reading the pic.
People of the color? Prisoners of the Coast? ....prior...over the counter?
Parrots of the Cambrian
The People of the Color, the one true color, the one color to rule them all. Yes, the People of the Color shall inherit the earth
Poop of the Colon
The East India Trading Company was pretty evil tho.. I mean.. undead demons and ghouls aside
I mean Davey Jones's redeeming quality was it was supposed to be out of line, he came off as a tired and bitter old man. The EITC just were exploitive assholes
Dude got betrayed by his supposedly true love. He got his one day after 10 years of servitude. Hard not to feel lowkey bad for him.
No wonder I fucking loved this movie so much
