You should check out this video about Baldassare Forestiere, he dug out several acres of caves and grew orange trees underground that grow out of their skylights. https://youtube.com/watch?v=mUKRPoQKynk&feature=share8

I really want to know what's causing the light spots in the alcoves of the cement, but I don't even have a theory.

They look like little battery-powered LED disk lights placed randomly in the vertical alcove.
