Something happened a few years ago that really poisoned my view of being vulnerable around partners.

Today I had my first psych session about dealing with it.

I'm really proud of myself.

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm currently in Idaho, the American home of potato, and there is a microwave in my hotel room.

Accidentally got the wrong tram and had to walk through Royal Park to get where I was going. No regrets.

The cats did not want to let me up aside from to feed them, which was not a problem, except I had to do a Coles run.
On;ly problem was that by the time I'd peeled myself out from under, showered etc and gone down, the day was nearly over.
Eh well, I've been hard at it most of the week with Operation Sort Shit so a slow day certainly won't hurt.

Every morning I greet my little dog with "Good morning princess. Would you like breakfast?" And every morning he responds with a meow. We don't care who hears us.

Miss Meow is "helping" me study by walking over the keyboard, walking in front of the screen and rubbing her face on the corners to the whole thing wobbles.

If my cat could get a job that'd be great. I don't want to go to mine so I've decided it's his turn to pay the bills for a while.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

If my cat could get paid to sleep and attack me randomly we'd be rich as fuck.

Another fun night of guitar. Came up with a really awesome part that'll be great in another track that's on the go. Once this one is finished it's time to go back and do the vocals. Then I can start auditioning band members. Fun times!

Have a great night everyone :)

I have shopped till I dropped! And by dropped I mean sat down due to chronic pain. Though I have to say I have done a lot better. Got some manga's, I even went to incub8r (for those who love artist alley at conventions this is one way to support artists. They have a lot of fan stuff, I love it!). And I got a book I've been wanting for a few months now.

Only downside is that I didn't get the manga I really wanted. But I am happy with what I have. I hope everyone has had a good Saturday!

I haven't had a pimple in ages, but now I have a big juicy one right on my eyebrow, what the hell. It's annoying and hurts a bit 😞

Just say your kid has gone out for the night (and overnight) and you find some special biscuits that have been in the cupboard for the past 2ish years would you give them a crack? Also would you wash them down with a large Coles express coffee even though you've already had two large coffees and a cup of tea today? Also if you were to experiment what comedies would you watch?

Update: we ate the biscuits. Surprisingly still crispy but with a slightly out of date taste. Ah well let's see.

I’m actually a bit concerned. @[email protected] hasnt commented in 2 days and that’s highly unusual.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago (8 children)

That does sound worrying 🀣

I've been here, obviously everyone has said everything that needs saying, I must have just been upvoting and not adding anything!

Watching the Tillies vs Sweden tonight and can confirm I am a firm fan of the Tillies πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’› (which is big for me as an obnoxious kiwi rugby union fan) now in the process of choosing a WSL team.

Today's goals have been accomplished.

Garage organised. House cleaned (team effort). Babaganoush made. Washing on the line. Ingredients for dinner tomorrow purchased.

Time to chill.

Still a firm fan of the Matilda's, they have shown me that I do like soccer/football and they have inspired so many and that's so important.

Aye Calypso, the places you've been to
The things that you've shown us
The stories you tell
Aye Calypso, I sing to your spirit
The men who have served you
So long and so well
Everyone yodelling now

Soxcat is back to regular operation - no deathmatch antagonism but no hyper cuddly confused hormonal shenanigans either. Thank fuck we can both relax on this miserable weekend. I also need to buy more churus because that is clearly the way to her heart.

I'm going on a cute date with my partner today. Gonna get some books and nerd stuff. And then have some burgers for dinner.

I can't wait till we live together.

Study success - I was further along in my assignment than I thought. It's finished with days to go. Just one online quiz to go which I can do this afternoon, then I can focus on the new material I'm behind on. A nice brain-clearing walk with Mr Woof is planned first.

I'm struggling a bit to get everything done on time with these subjects (sustainable housing and gardening) not because they are hard but because they relate to my own life so much that I keep agonising over decisions and spending a lot of time on little details. It does make it even more worthwhile doing it though.

For dins tonight - a medley of dehydrated shitakes, maitake, and shimeji with tofu and beans. Hope I make it.

Got a couple of big costs coming up (doggo booked in for surgery next week and need to buy a new vacuum cleaner) so I should to be budgeting a bit...but the lure of eating a takeaway burger for dinner tonight is just too great....

I've been feeling oddly musical tonight. I went through several of those Spotify radio playlist things from songs I like and found about a dozen songs I really like. I don't know how to play a guitar, or a piano, or really even drums (though I did give it a go once), but that's still not gonna stop me from acting like I can 🀣

I don't overly get ASMR, but in movies the sound of leather sole shoes on the pavement or cutlery on china really hits that pleasure part of my brain.

Side note, one day when I am not sharing a house with a person who loves a modern mute palette, I will have the early 1940s decorated house of my dreams! Especially the kitchen complete with those round ended bone handled knives that I adore so much.
