Server and database migrations this weekend. So I don't really get a weekend this week but at least I get a 4 day weekend next weekend from comp time

Have you tested your premigration backups yet?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

That isn't my department. The DBAs have been planning on this migration for a few months now. I will be doing post migration validation and troubleshooting. Since this is a large company and huge migration we have about 200 people on call for this migration.

Ouch, good luck with that, must be quite tiring to have a full 7-days week

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

eh not really. work from home most days, so it isn't like I am stuck in an office. When I was stuck in an office 5 days a week, a 7-10 day shift really sucked. At least now I can get up an do stuff around the house while we have down time. Since I am not needed for all of the deployment I am able to get out of the house just need to be able to get home within 20 min. So that makes this extremely bearable.

Hoping to get out for a motorcycle ride with my boyfriend. We may go see Oppenheimer if it rains though.

I should really do chores around the house but we'll see eif that happens...

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Enjoy that ride!

On my side, mostly relaxing. The new TMNT movies seems nice though, I might give it a try.

If you do, please report back and let us know what you thought! My favourite will always be the original cartoon from the late 80s-early 90s

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

I might! If you want to have more reviews of the movie, there is a dedicated thread on [email protected]

It's been a long week, I'm going to get some pork loins, potatoes, onions, peppers and abuse the hell out of my smoker after work

[–] grabyourmotherskeys 4 points 1 year ago

I've got a brisket in the sous vide for two days that I'm going to smoke a few hours before dinner!

It's good to have some down time after a long week

After work I think I'll order some food, maybe pizza and wings, and then hopefully get a round of Mario party in with some friends. I also need to catch up with the most recent episodes of Foundation.

I'm off work this week and it's so nice. We took a short trip to see giant sequoias at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National park, (a little bit of) Yosemite and Mono lake and we're going to Cirque du Soleil tomorrow.
