Sexy men/masculine looks are about as easy to find as for women/feminine looks, but cute seems a little less obvious.

I really doubt it's due to a lack of interest from folks, but πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I'm not entirely sure if this is the kind of thing you are talking about but I find something about sweaters / cardigans / sweater vests seem to lend themselves to a more cute look. To an extent I think so do things that might be considered nerdy like button up shirts / glasses / suspenders. Also colors that are usually considered more feminine but styled in a masculine way like pinks and purples.

Some sweater examples tv/celeb/animation:

Spencer (Criminal Minds) cardigan https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EyBVIIJW8AA3nz8.jpg

David (Schitt's Creek) fuzzy sweater https://www.goldderby.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/danlevy.jpg

Clark (My Adventures with Superman) sweater https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2023/06/NYPICHPDPICT000013326225.jpg?w=1024

Sylvester (Scorpion) sweater vest https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/scorpion2011/images/2/27/Sylvester.png/revision/latest?cb=20170506031456

Piggybacking on this I think George Nakai had a very nice/cute style in Beef. He wore lots of oversized/soft looking clothes.

I was thinking this too. Autumny looks can lend themselves really well to cuteness.

One of the reasons I prefer the colder months. It's so much easier for me to look nice in warm clothes. Layers tend to be eye catching, and it's nearly impossible to layer up in the summer months here without nearly expiring from heat exhaustion.

For summer months I think Hawaiian shirts or other patterned shirts are cute. You can pair them with khaki, navy, or jean shorts for a cute look that is still cool.

Funny you should mention those. I actually purchased my first one not too long ago! I've never been a fan of floral patterns, but the retro/neon revival has helped with that somewhat.

My partner also doesn't like floral prints but recently bought some other "summer patterns" like fish and a pink/purple plaid. There are other options out there.

Flannel season is the best season

[–] LemmyWinks666 1 points 1 year ago

So cozy.. so many options.

Hmm, I'm not too into the sweater look personally, but I see what you mean! The sweater vest in particular reminded me that a good vest (sweater or otherwise) can be a versatile option for falling somewhere on the range of cute and/or sexy.

I find colorful/funny tennis socks really cute. Even regular white ones with like a stripe or two of different color/small drawing are good enough. Couple them with shorts as the other user mentioned and some casual t-shirt/hoodie and you'll easily achieve cute rather then edgy look.

I'm rocking that look 50 weeks a year and reading your comment made my day.

[–] giriinthejungle 2 points 1 year ago

Happy to hear that! :)

About a year ago I threw out all my grey / plain socks and but bunch of good quality ones that are all different colors and have various animals on them . Currently rocking one shark sock and one eagle sock and a blink 182 shirt with a cat with lazer eyes . I'm almost 32 lol .

[–] giriinthejungle 1 points 1 year ago

I don't know man, I spent my 20s trying to look like a normal human adult so people at work would take me seriously and now that they do, in my thirties I keep on trying to say no to grey and neat and boring and welcome color chaos. Life is just too short to be boringly dressed lol.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

With crocs right?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Perhaps pair them with patterned shorts or shorts with silly messages for something between cute and uh...However you might describe folks with booty short messaging?

I think my long hair makes me look cute without taking away from my masculinity.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think many male idols in kpop manage to pull off cute very well. Taemin from shinee for example.

[–] UnicornKitty 2 points 1 year ago

This was my first thought.

[–] SweetSitty 8 points 1 year ago

I always think my husband is cute, especially when he first wakes up and is still a bit groggy. It's the disheveled hair that gets me.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I was really worried about not looking cute and looking too "tough" since I started buzzing off all my hair due to baldness. But I think it's been ok. I wear dark thick framed glasses, and a lot of light or pastel colored clothes. I keep a VERY short beard, just to give me some fuzz and distract away from my head. And I smile a lot.

I've also started shopping for cute hats. It's been tricky to find hat styles that I really like, but I've found some cute ones.

I was told to avoid "dad shorts". XD Loose fitting, with a belt, sometimes with cargo pockets...

Would that style be more cute or less cute than an alternative?

[–] mysoulishome 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I mean… Who are you trying to impress or attract? I’m probably in a different demographic at my age and place in life but who gives a shit about what kind of shorts I wear, I wonder…

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I dress in a manner that makes me feel my best. 😌

I brought up dad shorts because I think some people might find that look cute! Despite people or websites saying to avoid them.

[–] Uncle_Sheo217 1 points 1 year ago

What about short shorts? I’ve been wearing some 3” inseam workout shorts and idk if those are any better lmao

First thing that came to mind was Blaine from Glee. I looked through some pictures and some of the things that stood out that make his style seem cute include:

  • More use of color than normal (including unusual colored pants)
  • Bow ties
  • Suspenders
  • Sweaters
  • Sweater vests

Maybe not everyone’s idea of cute male aesthetic, but it works for me.
