Good.

The only thing these greedy fucks understand is money (and even then, its a tenuous understanding -- look at tariffs).

Tesla’s showing was in stark contrast with overall electric vehicle registrations, which jumped 31% in February.

A clear message.

In the UK, which surpassed Germany last year as the top EV market in the region, Tesla’s registrations are up 11% through the first two months, after a big gain in February.

they really want to get rid of the title of European country /s

Yeah, sorry guys. We’re like the weird cousin who turns up to family meetings, says some dumb shit, and creeps everyone out a little bit.

I think it's probably just a glitch, but I've wondered about the sort of people buying Tesla's in the UK for a while. So many better options available now, and the supercharger network is tiny in comparison to others.

Big tax incentives for business to buy ev's - 2% Vs 30% tax as a 'benefit in kind'. The two Tesla drivers I know both bought through their business and then gave it to themselves as a company perk.

However, Britain must try harder here. Other EVs are available.

I've got no problem with EV incentives, but as you say, there are no end of other options.

My brother in law is slightly left-of-centre leaning but he said he'd still buy a Tesla because he thinks the supercharger network is still a game-changer. If he did get one I might find the occasional opportunity to draw a dick and balls on it when it gets dirty, But he currently drives a 12-year old Toyota Corolla so I don't see him stumping up the cash for a Tesla any time soon.

As an EV driver I'll happily tell him he's wrong about the supercharger network being a game changer. Tesla are just 12.3% of the high power chargers in the UK. It's not an insignificant number, but if I can only use the other 87.7% of chargers I'll survive.

It's a very different situation in the US. There the supercharger network has been the only one that enabled long distance travel, although that's starting to change.

Yes but at the end of the day we are a family and family members help and understand eachother. Greetings from poorest (or second one idk exaclty) country in the UE, Romania.

Ironic we are sharing a microsoft link for a news article in a community to boycott unethical US corpos.

But yes, this is good news!

[–] homesweethomeMrL 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

probably as a result of Microsoft stuffing msn links into everything as a part of the bing enshittifications, which in turn affect DDG.

[–] jaybone 1 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

DDG just uses bing in the backend, so I’m somewhat unclear on why everyone is touting this as some great alternative search engine.

Sometimes I wonder if federated compute instances not running high loads could spin spare cycles crawling/indexing.

[–] homesweethomeMrL 1 points 14 hours ago

it's bing with all the tracking stripped out. Essentially.

There's some other good things about DDG as well, but it's not like it's just bing.

Brexit bros at it again.

plus the fact tesla cars are so badly put together

[–] wasay 18 points 1 day ago

I hate the concept of not having buttons and a driver panel (analogic or digital).

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I wouldn't argue with quality. The quality isn't that bad and even if it was, that's something they might improve in the future. You shouldn't buy one of these cars because you're straight forward supporting an insane fascist.

[–] breadsmasher 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I wasnt saying it as an “instead” but as an “addition”

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

IMHO it weakens your overall standing in debates if you mix very important (facism) and less important (quality issues) because it allows your opponents to argue against the less important topic to distract from the main point.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago

They are built like a Lada at the proce point of a BMW. And future build quality means nothing when it comes down to the car you bought today.

My buddy messed up and spilled a drink in his model X. When pulling up the carpet and panels to clean up he found a bunch of blue painter’s tape where there were supposed to be wiring harnesses and screws. You’ll note that blue painters tape is designed to be temporary, and will not last more than a year or two.

That's fantastic news! Death to the Traitors economy! We have to retaliate in some way, right? I'm checking all my purchases now to exclude any with (ultimately) US ownership.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I get why people bought Teslas when there was no alternative. but nowadays they are so bad in so many ways, it makes no sense. they cut corners everywhere and don't even pass the savings on to consumers. just give me a normal dashboard and manual controls ffs

also recently heard that Tesla owners are the most indebted owners. so kind of speaks to the fact that it's a completely irrational purchase.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Tesla’s “build my car” in some regions at least assumes you want to see the price after theoretical fuel savings. Which, of course, is a savings dramatically in their favour. Might be a factor in the indebtedness.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

He should've done his research. The AfD nazis he endorsed believe climate change is a hoax and hate e-cars, and everyone who does buy e-cars hates nazis.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 19 hours ago

He doesn’t care about Tesla. He’ll probably get enough contracts for spacex and starlink out of trump to make up the difference.
