"Who’s Afraid of Hasan Piker?
He’s hot. He’s “dangerous.” Young men actually listen to him. Is he what Democrats are looking for?"

Hi! First time posting on Lemmy actually.
I've changed the headline. Can I leave my blurb about it too, or do I need to delete that and pull straight from the article?
Blurb is fine! No worries there, but the headline is the important bit.
When posting to Lemmy, remember that each community has their own rules. Make sure you read the sidebar on each before posting.
God damn. Can we stop with this shit for a few days?
Are a lot of people covering this already on Lemmy? My bad, I should've checked. I think Hasan is great and I just wanted to share a good article about him that tries not to slander him one way or another
It's like the 10th "the left's new Joe Rogan" headline I've seen in just a few days. Earlier today it was some podcast that supposedly beat his ratings, and yesterday it was some other podcast that was blablahRogan.
The left doesn't need a Joe Rogan, we need less stupid people that pay attention to dumb shit like Joe Rogan.
"the left" doesn't need a dude bro podcast. that market does not exist.
what "the left" needs are more voices that are not mouthpieces for the consultant class or the white male lib bros like the pod save people.
the meidas touch podcast just beat out rogan as the top political podcast. how about more pods like that.
what “the left” needs are more voices that are not... white male lib bros...
the meidas touch podcast just beat out rogan as the top political podcast. how about more pods like that.
lmao
I notice that you conveniently left out the thing that I said at the very end, LIKE THE POD SAVE PEOPLE.
and if you bother to listen to the mtn you'd know that just because they're white and male doesn't make them white male lib bros. there are lots of podcasters out there who are also white and male and liberal absolutely do not act and talk like how they do on crooked media.
So is this the DNCs take away? That they didn’t get a Rogan so they lost. Because it sure feels like a bit of a media push for a left Rogan with these articles lately.
Hasan is a tankie. Very popular on twitch, pretends to be left, but leans more right. He's kinda like Joe Rogan with his political grifts. He promoted a terrorist on twitch, trying to platform them. He also has beef with other streamers, like Destiny and h3h3productions, for differences in politics and the Gaza situation. OP, promoting Hasan is a red flag.
Name a single position Hasan has that is on the right lmao. I suspect you're just saying that because he's critical of Democrats. That kid he interviewed is not a member of Ansar Allah, literally just a Yemeni teenager.
It’s not right that he’s so sexy
Ethan and Hila are both zionists, so anyone clashing with their views on Gaza is a positive.
Supporting genocide is not a "difference in politics."
The thing Joe Rogan has going for him is that he is friends with funny people and has them on his show. Just scrolling through this guy's stuff it seems like it will just be depressing political news.
It's good that a leftist podcast is getting attention, but unless it is occasionally entertaining I can't do it right now. Oliver and Stewart do a good job of making me laugh at depressing topics.. maybe my elder millennial is showing.
The thing Joe Rogan has going for him is that he is friends with funny people
Ha. Now that's funny.
I dont like hasan. he doesnt actually do anything to help his causes he just whines on the internet all day. has he ever gone to a protest or a rally? or does he just sit in his million dollar mansion all day getting rich off of gen z and gen alpha brainlets giving him those millions which could actually go to good causes?
He has gone to protests! And rallies!
In recent memory, he's attended pro Palestinian protests in Chicago, showcased nonprofits trying to help those in squalor in Skid Row, Los Angeles, and marched/striked in solidarity with SAG-AFTRA workers. More recently, he's done real world journalism by speaking to imprisoned peoples that populate firefighting forces in California. That story was especially potent because of the fires that happened recently in Los Angeles.
In all instances, he's brought his 30,000-strong Twitch audience and casted the spotlight on local leaders that can speaker better to the issues at hand. I think him bringing awareness to these things, in addition to him covering the news, definitely gets overlooked by many people that already have a preconception of him.
