socialism
GDP
Ok yeah I won't even need to read the rest
Socialism, commonly known for the very little, unimportant factor of having workers own the means of production, now includes a stock market where people can buy a share of the means of production, using capital, without ever having worked there, or anywhere, ever?
News to me.
As a wise tankie recently said to me, about the CCP's stock market:
Owning stock in a company does not give you control over the means of production. Sorry bud.
In Hungary, a lot of companies are state owned*, I guess I now live in a communist utopia under comrade Viktor Orbán.
* at max 25%, only so the losses can be subsidized by the state, and old people that wanted "the good old days" back could cheer that "the industries were nationalized".
"NO, compromise is NOT acceptable, we MUST implement socialism NOW; otherwise you're all fascists and completely identical" - Tankies when democracy
"Um, aktually, sweatie, materialist analysis DEMANDS we be capitalist first" - Tankies when no democracy
the material conditions forcing stalin to recriminialize homosexuality:
There are over 800 billionaires in China... but I don't know of any factories where the workers control the means of production.
800 Billionaires
What is that, CIA propaganda comrade? Please correct your source to our glorious red propaganda.
Sorry, I am a Western imperialist capitalist propagandist dog.
Incidentally, there are only 756 billionaires in the U.S.
That's more like it comrade. Do that again and you'll get the wall!
Just had my first run-in with hexbear. Man those guys are fuckin' stupid.
My condolences 😔
"China is Socialist"
- The Leading party literally named "Communist"
Not that any of them really mean anything
Tbf they're used a lot as synonyms in marxism. Ultimately it's still a state capitalist hell hole
It ultimately depends upon the people.
- Capitalist laws work well, with peoples' mentality being community oriented.
- Communist laws work well with capital oriented mentality.
- Nothing works when bandits are given all the power.
You may be interested in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Market_socialism. I personally don't think capitalist laws help anyone but so long as you're a leftist that's fine by me.
I'm not *-ist. I don't do *-ism.
My thoughts don't depend upon what a certain group of people may/may not consider acceptable.
Yeah labels are vague but they're good at getting a general idea of what you support. For example I don't label myself much generally, but i just say i'm a libertarian socialist or anarchist. It's what you believe that actually matters.
The problem with catchphrase labels is that it creates the same problems as the word "God" has for thousands of years.
It encourages people to think less and empowers those who would use this to destroy rationality in groups and use said groups to destroy people for their own agenda.
True, it's more important to focus on your own beliefs than subscribing to a single ideology.
Nonono 🤓👆
It's acktually Socialism with Chinese characteristics🤓👆
But seriously it's just Dictatorship with Capitalism with a skin of Socialism
State capitalism is still capitalism.
Sounds like counterrevolutionary propaganda... i'd be careful not accidentally fall out of any windows if i were you.
If the public doesn't control the political parties or their political orientation through voting or councils, socialism is pretty useless, it could even be argued that a society with an illiberal state cannot be socialist, because while it may not have an owning class it sure has a bureaucratic ruling class.
Read: The Average Joe in China cannot decide what their workplace is doing.
Mikhail Bakunin's "socialism without liberty is slavery" quote comes to mind.
Exactly, you can't liberate people by shackling them.
But I guess war is peace, freedom is slavery, and ignorance is strength.
"Trust me, bro. Your suffering is in your best interest."

Your comment inspired me to create a post about it, thanks lmao
