I like the part where Clive Rosfield becomes a clown on a clown show and eats a banana

Honestly, I'm just happy that these guys are kicking against the dlc micro transactions normalization. And I love that they included a mini version of the card game in Dave the Diver!

Balatro was decently fun, but I don't get the hype. I played for a couple hours and enjoyed it, but it didn't grip me like Slay the Spire did. I'll probably play it some more when the update drops, but I doubt I'll play more than 10 hours total.

I've played it way more but actually totally agree. I beat all the difficulties and unlocked probably 80% of content, but I've probably got less than 50 hours in it.

sts getting a phone version created like an entire month for me where I didn't play anything else lol. idk how many sts runs I've done but I'm scared to look

Please make the jokerless challenge remove hex, Ankh, ectoplasm, temperance, and wheel of fortune. That challenge is hard enough without cards you will never be able to use taking up space.

What's Matador been doing that it shouldn't be doing?

I think he’s just vague and inconsistent. Like he doesn’t work on the hook which based on card text you would think he would. Etc etc

I need it now

I don't understand this game. It just looks like shitty video poker with joker cards involved for some reason. Why are there so many joker cards?

So the core is very much video poker, in that you make poker hands and score points. The twist is that you can dramatically modify your deck as the run goes on. It's kind of hard to describe, but things like my king is now worth 50 points, multiplies my score by 5, and I've cloned it enough to make fictional hands like flush house, or five of a kind.

Jokers have unique effects that can modify the deck, give additional score, change the rules of the game, that kind of thing.

It's quite fun and challenging, I highly recommend it.

The jokers are what makes the game fun. You should try it. It’s a kind of video poker though.

Poker is just the underlying mechanism. It could be any RNG that makes patterns that match against other patterns.

Yeah that’s what I thought too. Until you try it. It’s like meth after that.
