Yes, mostly, and that context is critically important, but the "line goes up" crowd will not be happy and will probably do something to change it. Possibly something okay-to-good, but probably not.
And i wonder what happened in 2024 that drove people away from that service. For me, what I think of, is that time they refused to take responsibility for someone that died as a result of lies and negligence at a restaurant on their property, referred to an arbitration clause buried in the terms of service in an unrelated product only agreed to as part of a long-expired product trial.
All of that would have convinced me to cancel service.
Also, interesting timing, just this morning I received an email from Disney doubling down on arbitration, while also announcing an increase in ad presence for their "ad free" service tiers. I have never been subscribed to Disney+, though, and I can be sure I never will with that trajectory. I'm glad they can remind me constantly to never agree to use their services.
As someone who subs to Disney, they really only have franchise content. If you’re not into Marvel or Star Wars then you’re basically just subbing for their backlog.
Whereas Netflix and HBO are actually putting out standalone originals. Stranger Things, Squid Game, Money Heist, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Grace and Frankie are/were all their own things without just being some movie franchise’s licensed tv spinoffs. Even HBO gives a mix of DC content with their original shows.
There really isn’t much in the way of series created for TV for Disney itself. Even after buying FOX, there’s not any real original new content to compete with Netflix.
At this point I only have disney, because in exchange I get access other people’s accounts like Max and Peacock. Once everyone goes the Netflix route and blocks sharing, all those subs are going out the window.
Most of Disney's content is for children. They have hundreds of original kids shows.
Lots of vintage cartoons too but no, not worth the price.
And they've run both franchises into the ground.
Money heist or La casa de papel was bought by Netflix and they added 2 more (unneeded in my opinion) seasons

They're parents. Kids love watching the same thing over and over again.
I sat through the first half of zootopia like 6/7 days last week.
Damn I now remember being stuck on an eurotrip in a caravan where the only vhs was toy story.
That itself is sad. Being a good parent might mean finding something better for your kids to do than watching TV.
The sad part is you making the idiotic assumption that having an option for kids to watch means that watching TV is the only activity they have available to them.
You require time to relax and unwind, right? So do kids. Feel free to learn some nuance before talking with grownups, again.
So are they getting a lot out of watching something over and over again?
And yes, no TV is better than any TV. That is a valid adult view, and not idiotic at all. But it really was the over and over again part that I was commenting on.
Maybe it is better than letting them wander all over tiktok and youtube which is much worse.
Have some kids, and then see how that goes for you.
Been there, done that. They did some TV here and there, but not much. They didn't watch much at all when they were little, certainly not over and over.
I only have D+ because it was cheaper to get HBO and Hulu in their bundle rather than separately.
Yeah but now you have Hulu.I hate that one even more than Disney.
I watch Futurama every night at bed. Hulu is the only app that plays when I leave the TV on but turn off the screen.
