Your photos give me life and make me wish I wasn’t so lazy with my own cameras.

Pretty sure I asked before, but I forgot. What are you shooting with?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Just an old shitty canon 550d w/ a cheapo 50mm for that one.

The sunsets make themselves at that beach at this time of year :)

Aww, well compliments to you. Mother Nature might make it easier, but it’s still your composition. ✨

It's one of those "brushing Gibson has relaxed me to the point of sleep".

Heading to Flaming Lips tonight, should be fun. I'm guessing they haven't installed aircon at festival hall...?

Edit. Feels like there's fans, but it's still really quite hot.

Edit. There seems to be no fans. I was mistaken.

Edit. My god, I'm drenched already.

Second set ... I'll ease off now 🙂

That looks amazing!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 12 hours ago

Nice shots 👍

I was thinking about going but after being in an un airconned Royal Exhibition Building all day I don't think I can do another unairconned venue.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 13 hours ago

Festering Hall? Sounds like it's worth the sweat though.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 16 hours ago

I didn't even know they were playing 🫥

Yesterday's episode of Severence was so good I watched it again which is super rare.

thoughtsThere is no way that could be Helly R down there. It has to be Helena, I'd be so annoyed if it wasn't. Irving knows and Dylan is twigging onto it too.

Dylan and Gretchen are going to be the actual throuple.

The actress playing Felicia had the best facial acting when she gave Irving a hug. I felt like I was being hugged myself.

Devon's strained "yis..." when Natalie asks her a question as she's about to leave the horrific Ricken ego-fest was one of the best lines from an already amazing actress who sounds so uncannily real in every line read.

The goat people are almost all homeless or drug addicts hence the awful skin and hair.

Cobel hurriedly left because she recognised the bodyguard from something and realised she wasn't going to leave that building alive - or at least not without her memories.

and now to wait for next Friday, sigh.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

spoiler___The goat people! Plausible that they may severed homeless. If they were more normal outies they might be suspicious about why they leave work looking dishevelled everyday. Or maybe they are true believers, so they blindly accept what they do during the day is good for Lumon? WHAT ARE THE GOATS FOR?? As for the facial acting, the smiles from Milchick and Natalie. So disturbing, fake, evil and condescending all at the same time. They deserve an acting award just for the smiles. This show is a total mastery of the uncanny and unnerving. It’s gonna be a slow week waiting for the next episode.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

spoiler

It's so crazy right?! I can't imagine that they'd be able to cover up smelling of goats every day. And they do look seriously deranged.

I read somewhere that the goats in S1 were included as more of a non-sequitor but because they were so popular with the audience they have an expanded role in S2 lol. I wouldn't be surprised (and would actually kind of prefer) if they didn't explain what the goats were for in the end, it's just one of the unfathomable mysteries of a big corporate office...

Oh man, the hidden conversation between Milchick and Natalie was a masterclass in facial acting. I rewatched it several times just to see the point at which Natalie was silently begging with her eyes for Milchick to just go along with it despite how stupid and insulting the gift was lol.

It sure is going to be a slow wait, but I do also love that we have time to digest and analyse been episodes, the online communities are absolutely buzzing right now and it wouldn't have been the same if all the episodes dropped at once. Though I almost wish they did the first two together.

We're gonna need a concise theory from you because I can't pick it.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Tap for spoilerAbsolutely is helena, they broadcast the fuck outta that when she lied about what happened during overtime

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 hours ago

I thought so too, plus mounting evidence over the past couple episodes, but it's nuts how many people on Reddit thought it wasn't. You don't subdue a determined motherfucker like that so easily!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 11 hours ago

I'm going to rewatch the whole series 1 and 2 episodes again.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

I saw it too and that cliffhanger. Argh!

SpoilerRegarding Ms. Cobel, I reckon that might be her dead husband, especially with the way she had her shrine and the ventilator mask in her front seat.

The mystery behind Gemma really has me curious now about what had happened, at first I thought Miss Wong had something related to her but now I’m not so sure.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 hours ago

There's a brief moment in S1

that shows...... The ventilator mask is actually for a Charlotte Cobel, date of birth March 17, 1944. It's in one of the episodes when they show a close-up of the shrine in Ms Cobel's house.

Lots of theories since then about how Cobel's motivation to prove reintegration might be tied to bringing Charlotte (mother?) back, tied into the broader assumption that the ultimate goal of the Severence chip and whatever MDR is doing relates to recreating a personality and bringing back a dead person a la Gemma. It's all very unclear ATM!

I bought a portable air con from Appliances Online. Rare delivery fail - didn't get notified until the guys actually rocked up to deliver. First time this has happened to me.

Mega dramas hooking it up to the outside to vent (we all gotta vent from time to time). At the moment it's held in place by repurposed cardboard and the magic of duct tape, which will do until it rains. If it continues to do well over the next few days, then will invest in a proper window fitment.

Unit works well - has shrunk the temp in my bedroom from 30 plus to 23 over 1 hour. Methinks this was money well spent.

Will be keeping an eye on the power bill, but my last one was $45, so I think I can splurge a bit on personal comfort.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 17 hours ago

Cooling is worth the cost if possible.

Portable air cons are a god send.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 18 hours ago

Definitely worth shelling out to not boil in this horrid heat. You'd have spent so many decades the "hard way" with wet towels and ice cubes and what not. I'd only experienced that in my childhood overseas and that was enough for me.

What sort of leg gnawing rat have I trapped myself with?

He had a nasty cptsd episode. I didn't cope well.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Feels. Stress manifests itself in so many weird ways, and big decision time is classic for long buried stuff to emerge in my experience. You got this.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 12 hours ago

Thank you. Really trying!!!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I feel like I'm missing something fundamental in my life and I don't know what. Perhaps it's boredom and sense of fulfilment, because there is so much I can do with ice on my face for most of the day. I'm trying not to see the future as scary, but as something with hopefully some sort of excitement.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

I think it's normal to see the future as a bit scary. It's the unknown.

Edit: Maybe that's one of the most exciting things about being alive. You don't know what's around the corner.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 18 hours ago

Gutters done. Always like doing them down here because:

Worth the risk. Lovely up there. Doesn't look anything like that from ground level.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

Rolled outta bed late and dehydrated but still managed to hoist myself out to do the needful:

⛽ Car filled up

🚘 Car given a long overdue clean and vac - tired of Monday's gunk

🌬️ Car tyres pumped although I still get the tyre pressure warning...

🥕 Bought fruit and veg at my old shops on the way back (almost drove back to my old place out of habit 💔)

🍲 That includes a shit tonne of vegan snags and easy cook shit at the Fancy Woollies which I miss DEARLY despite the shitty parking

🍦 Grabbed half price ice cream and cheap chips from the shops across the road

🧹 Vacuumed the joint

🚿 Had a shower with hot water coming out of the cold tap, as usual on hot days, because this place sucks that way

❄️ Aircon on

🍽️ About to have a late lunch

That's it. Staying PUT until Monday. I have plenty of food options. Window shades on my car windscreen because I'm not going anywhere. Need to buy a dash cover.

So many Severence theories to catch up on and then time for this week's The Pitt, then I'll need to tackle the dishes and get round to reading Juice tonight.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 18 hours ago

Might watch Se7en now. I've been looking at what Cinema Nova's been doing for their anniversary parties and following that

[–] [email protected] 6 points 17 hours ago

2nd season pokemon intro song sucks compared to season 1.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I didn’t mean to, but I also bought a copy of War and Peace today.

I guess I know how I’m spending the heat

[–] [email protected] 5 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I'm going to be reading Tim Winton's Juice just to really let it sink in

I'm really not far north of the city, closest to the Viewbank weather station. It's usually a couple of degrees warmer here but right now it's 11 degrees hotter than the CBD. It's 37C.

How??

[–] [email protected] 5 points 18 hours ago

it's 30 here in Carlton

Out for a walk and brunch before the weather gets too hot. Now home for washing and relaxing.

Love this space on the internet and glad for all those who are or were part of it.

I wish I could do gaming on the PC sometimes but after sitting and staring at a monitor for 40+ hours at work i just can't do it.

#consolepeasent

[–] [email protected] 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I use a controller with my PC if I'm playing a game like Dark Souls.

I guess the switch is easier for me because I have a couple of hours between work and gaming with the boys' evening routine

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 hours ago

That makes sense. For me it's the sitting position. I play guitar sitting on the floor because I can't hack sitting in a chair again lol
