Steam Deck
A place to discuss and support all things Steam Deck.
Replacement for r/steamdeck_linux.
As Lemmy doesn't have flairs yet, you can use these prefixes to indicate what type of post you have made, eg:
[Flair] My post title
The following is a list of suggested flairs:
[Discussion] - General discussion.
[Help] - A request for help or support.
[News] - News about the deck.
[PSA] - Sharing important information.
[Game] - News / info about a game on the deck.
[Update] - An update to a previous post.
[Meta] - Discussion about this community.
Some more Steam Deck specific flairs:
[Boot Screen] - Custom boot screens/videos.
[Selling] - If you are selling your deck.
These are not enforced, but they are encouraged.
Rules:
- Follow the rules of Sopuli
- Posts must be related to the Steam Deck in an obvious way.
- No piracy, there are other communities for that.
- Discussion of emulators are allowed, but no discussion on how to illegally acquire ROMs.
- This is a place of civil discussion, no trolling.
- Have fun.
Amazing, let's all touch decks
How do we decide which deck will open up to accept the other?
Depends how you like docking your deck.
look how big mine is (512gb)
Cool to see. I’m posting from kbin - super neat to see your Steam deck content from here.
Let's go federation!
And I’m posting from Memmy, a Lemmy iOS app in beta!
Just wait till the apps hit the public stores and that “convenience” bar gets cleared.
Things are looking pretty bright!
Kbin deck gang checking in :)
glad to have you guys! federation ftw!
I don't even have a Deck but this federation thing is super cool.
its awesome. i love as well finding very confused mastodon users posting. always funny.
Nice. Looking forward to all the fresh content and discussion in this community
Wow! Love that the community is moving over.
I'd have been sad if people who seem to love tinkering and the open nature of their decks weren't willing to give the fediverse a try. So to see the community slowly growing is real cool.
it's awesome
I'm happy the community here is growing so I can have people here to talk about steam deck with.
I would like to get something off my chest. I have never sniffed my steam deck. Thank you.
Sniff the air vent softly while playing an intense game. The heat creates a wonderful sweet, sort of electronic savory smell.
It's really lovely. I sniff my Steam Deck air vent probably once or twice a week on average. Some weeks much more if it's cold out.
It feels nice to lightly brush the tip of your nose across the ribs of the went while inhaling too :)
Steam Deck... After dark
Steamy Deck ;)
Instead of tip of your nose I recommend the stubbles of your facial hair 10/10.
Try it while you still can. Mine has faded and now I live in permanent sadness
You should. Nothing like the smell of Steam Deck to get you going.
Frick yes!
Great milestone!
Nice. Congrats.
Wow actual people
ikr, insane!
Maybe Steam Deck users are more prone to leaving reddit or something.
Awesome!
Now this is more of a habit to do things here and assist people to migrate
Congrats!
Jw...I'm trying to subscribe to the steam deck thru kbin/lemmy but the site sopuli.xyz isn't allowing signup it just freezes...is that the only option for subscribing thru these 2 kbin/lemmy? If anyone knows i appreciate it, I'm a big r/steamdeck viewer ha
You can subscribe to and participate in any community regardless of what instance you're a member of.
*Assuming your home instance federates with the instance. Which in most cases is default, but not always (see Beehaw for example)
You don't need to sign up there since we're all federated with eachother. If you're on the kbin mobile site you just tap the menu button at at the top left next to where it says kbin then scroll down until you see the community name and the subscribe button. If you're on desktop it's on the sidebar. You can also type [email protected] into your search bar and hit subscribe from there.
Fastest growth happens with community of people who have growth mindset.
And gamers + owners of Steam Deck definitely have that! I mean we take apart our deck just to change the look of the thing - something that could be thought of as very risky by others is just another adventure, a new land to be discovered for us.
And especially, the subreddit that was redirected here was the _linux one. Linux users even further are open to new things.
Great! That's a great milestone. More people subscribed, more high-quality posts and comments, and more attractive to new subscribers. I believe we're in a good path.
More people also means more responsibility to the mod team. Thank you for your work to keep /c/steamdeck a nice place
I'm doing my part
I love to see the growth. It's really refreshing to see how rapidly these communities are growing.
Now let's create an ROG Ally community :P
why does the sidebar i am looking at showing '230 subscribers' ? Perhaps that is just on the lemmy instance i am on. (sh.itjust.works)
