Classic based Wei Wu

[–] RubicTopaz 13 points 16 hours ago

Honestly, fair

The like... real actual Chinese people on RedNote speak far better than this, as a rule... And if they can't, they use ChatGPT which unlike this shit doesn't sound like a racist stereotype.

[–] EtnaAtsume 11 points 13 hours ago

When Wei Wu says "I'm racist", it's true.

Because the person behind the account is a racist twerp perpetuating a stereotype.

Lol a whole lot of sheltered neoliberals about to learn that racism isn't a white-only hobby.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Who the fuck thinks like that lol Asians can be insanely racist

[–] [email protected] 14 points 13 hours ago

People with no experience of other cultures

It's funny, the tankies and neoliberals assumed that because their country was terrible, other people's were automatically good.

Love to see the lack of pussy footing. No bullshit just straight "nawh fuck that race"

[–] BleatingZombie 14 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

I heard a story about an American trying to borrow a cigarette while in France and the guy said "I am how do you say .... selfish"

True honesty

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 hours ago

How do you "borrow" a cigarette?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

A pack cost over 10 €. Pay for yours.

[–] InternetCitizen2 2 points 13 hours ago

That doesn't feel that expensive, but I also don't smoke. I guess if you are doing a pack a day it will be bleeding your wallet pretty good.

“Wei Wu” has an avatar that looks like it was AI generated, not to mention they’re verified on twitter and they talk exactly like a western person doing a Chinese caricature. Seems fake too me.

[–] [email protected] 102 points 1 day ago

Of course. It's a bit like the "feminist" sockpuppet accounts that say absurd things to turn people against feminism.

I hate culture wars and disinformation.

Yeah, this feels like an op to me, too. I've seen a LOT of negative stuff about China over the past 72 hours or so. Like suspiciously boosted on Reddit (mostly) and Lemmy (less so). No proof, but anecdotally, it seems like much more than normal, and current events make it extra sus.

[looks through comments] So, Firefly nailed it, right? 未來是雙語的

[–] [email protected] 88 points 1 day ago

I for one welcome some healthy pervert and slut energy over racist energy.

Why do people want to go where they aren’t welcome though? I know it’s downright American af, but still.

[–] [email protected] 48 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (8 children)

That's the thing, every post on rednote like "do you guys want us here" has hundred of responses from chinese IPs like "Yeah, you guys are great", the only criticism I see is that some influencer don't like that the long-form videos they spend 8 hours a day making are getting out-competed by shitposts directly reposted from tiktok, sometimes without even a translation.

spoiler

Nah, rednote is no less horny than tiktok was, and half the horny content/comments are from chinese IPs.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Did people really think they'd be different?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Yes, a lot of the news articles were just straight up lying about what rednote allowed, claiming LGBT+ and horny content was not allowed.

Meanwhile my FYP be like

spoiler

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

They're struggling to moderate it right now, so you can't really say what their content policy is from what they're doing right now, especially with foreign content. Longtime Chinese users might know

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 hours ago

That is true, there's a lot of stuff that is obviously against the rules, but a lot of the users on my FYP are longtime chinese users with older posts of similar content.

[–] [email protected] 109 points 1 day ago (2 children)

It's totally cool to be racist, but perverse and sluty behavior is a serious crime. Just think of all the harm sluts cause
