This is the most depressing greentext I’ve read in a while.

Could have just got it delivered

Anon is a bit more than just depressing

Or just order without the shenanigans. Nobody cares, and if they ask (why would they), just say you're picking up dinner for the family. I do that all the time wearing sweatpants or whatever (WFH), and I've never had someone ask. I'm not fat or anything, but fat people are in the same situation, so it really doesn't matter.

All they care is that you pay for your order.

Why waste? Wouldn't you just eat it while hangover? McD's is great for hungover food.

10-15 years ago, I wouldn’t have argued. It’s good for nothing and worth the same.

A lot of people hate leftovers, and I think the reason is because they don't know how to store and reheat them properly. So the food dries out in the fridge from improper storage, or gets soggy/chewy in the microwave from improper heating. Or reheating foods in the microwave that should be reheated on the stove/in the oven/air fryer/etc. Or using the right equipment to reheat but using the wrong settings/time. I could go on and on...

The point I'm making is that there's no reason why leftovers can't taste just as good as when they were fresh if you know what you're doing.

It is almost impossible for leftovers to taste just as good as when fresh though. You can get close but that's it.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

There are a lot of foods that taste better and better with every time you reheat them. Especially a lot of stews: Grünkohl, Bigos, Lasagna, Chilli con Carne, Pörkölt, all kinds of Curry etc.

Problem with reheating McDonald's is, that it's shit food to begin with. To get a decent menu out of McD leftovers you put them in the oven for 7 minutes, but make sure to replace them with a pizza 6 minutes before they're done.

[–] Wizard_Pope 2 points 2 weeks ago

There is a limit to how many times you can reheat things that are not stews or soups though.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah mcdonalds fries need to be piping hot and fresh straight from the fryer. Reheating in the air-fryer even right after delivery changes the flavor (though you can get them back to ideal texture which is still a big improvement).

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

McDonald's fries just aren't good anymore imho, period. There was a time when I would go just for the fries, even post beef tallow era. Not anymore.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago

The other night I put some leftover drumsticks in the air fryer and they were better. Also fried rice, better when it's sat overnight in the fridge first. Frying leftover potatoes with eggs. Leftovers are just ingredients.

Just get drunk again and eat it cold you fucking noob.

[–] [email protected] 40 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

But... why? I'm sure nobody at the McDonald's even noticed or cared about him, let alone who he was talking to, or pretending to talk to.

When you’re this depressed and alone having other people think that you’ve got your shit together and aren’t more depressed than the imprint in your mattress can be a way of escapism for just a short amount of time.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Fair enough. I guess everyone deals with depression in different ways.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

A mattress can be flipped. A person, not so much

Me ordering food that could feed a family of three on a friday evening then eating all by myself

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm thin, but I have only once cared how much food another person orders or eats. If someone eats 4 times what I would, I would be impressed. The one time I was surprised by someone's overeating was a morbidly obese woman that was easy over 500 lbs. She was stuck living at home and people would care for her. She took up a 3-person couch to eat lunch. She had a mountain of fried chicken wings, and she was going at them like something I had never seen before. It wasn't enjoyment. She ate them desperately and would cry. She had a bucket next to her in which she vomited several times throughout the meal. The poor woman wasn't not eating just because it tasted good. She was meeting a deep personal need that had gotten terribly out of control. Even then, I didn't think to judge and shame her like she was bad. I felt confused but bad for her. She was obviously unwell. Still, I doubt you're eating like that.

I think that if someone is judging you for your intake amount, that's their problem. I have my own things that others like to judge and shame. If someone does, then I know they're an asshole and I stay away from them. I am not going to concern myself with the opinions of someone whose values I dislike. I'm going to concern myself with me and people I like. Here's a quote from Game of Thrones that I embrace:

Tyrion: Let me give you some advice bastard. Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 2 weeks ago

That's what they wanted to do, and they did, not to mention they actually touched grass. Not half bad by my standards.

World wide web link for those lacking a wrestling browser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk0En8mOEDM

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

So weird. Is YouTube trying to make their own world wide something that isn't a web to connect people?

Cause that link worked for me.

[–] scholar 4 points 2 weeks ago

Large companies often register common misspellings of their domain, www being a subdomain makes it even easier

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

What browser are you using? The WWE link doesn't work for me, but I'm using FireFox and wondering if perhaps Chrome automatically fixes the URL.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

Voyager app to chrome. It even had the link preview in voyager.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That's an awesome skit. I heard a rumor that Jordan Peele was considering making a whole movie about that Wendell character.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah! That's the same character. But if he makes a whole movie about Wendell I just hope it's not a horror film...
