A friend of mine actually immigrated into the US for a very highly paid IT position at Amazon headquarters, until he found out that Amazon's toxic and inhumane culture spans all the way to the top.
It's actually worse at the top.
Your every moved is watched by your peers, who are encouraged to find any weakness and exploit it.
The cream rises faster if you agitate it, the theory is.
Which is why they have so much churn.
