This is a bit of a unique twist on the weekly warframe format, instead of me bringing you the frame, it's time to do the opposite! (this is totally not because I have no ideas for a thread myself, nope!) Doesn't matter if it's an incredibly niche or a very popular warframe, if you have something to say about your favorite (or most hated) frame - this is your chance! Maybe you have a concept for a frame that doesn't exist but you wish it did? This is also the perfect chance to bring it up!

Probably just Wisp for convenience, her abilities make her a good fit for most missions, and especially for the boost in movement. Parkour/level traversal are pretty big parts of warframe's level design, and i find it really fun to move through out the levels.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 23 hours ago

Shock Motes being able to passively keep Arcane Consequence rolling is huge for that too.

Valkitty time!
First of all yeh she needs a rework badly, her 1 is pre-parkour update, her 2 has been power creeped by so many other frames and her 3 doesn't even do anything without an augment, Hysteria's pretty great but the stance is horrid. All in all a frame that could use one of those patented Pablo lite reworks.

That said she's still awesome, I've been kind of working on a bit of a 'rework' lately seeing how modern I can make her kit feel with just in-game mechanics. So far I have.

  • Nightmare Paralysis: Prolonged Paraylsis augment + arcane trickery + arcane crepuscular + ground finishers. Now paralysis does the small grouping/stun thing but ground finishering a group of enemies grants you invisibility and a crit damage buff for 30 seconds, useful both on hysteria and non-hysteria builds.
  • Better Hysteria: Tennokai, + 1 nira mod (I like the exilus one) + seismic wave on her talons. Hysteria heavy attacks are now better used as heavy slams and when you do they'll nuke a room of level 200 steel path manic bombards without issue, gives her claws a bit more oomph without having to resort to slide attack spam.

Its... a bit of a work in progress but I still love her as a frame, ████ (too many) hours of in-mission gameplay on just Valkyr prime are proof enough of that. There's nothing more relaxed than tooling around an exterminate or survival in perfect safety ripping grineer heads off.

i put Arcane Battery on her and using only her 2, gives her 700+ energy, which is more than enough for her to use and also triggers the purple archon shards bonus crit chance

Yareli my beloved, one of the high femme frames in terms of design, maybe even the highest. The frame that got me back into Warframe and in fact turned me into a Warframe main. Stop delaying Yareli prime, please!!!!

With Loyal Merulina, she finally has easy level cap potential and access to her full arsenal. Like Nezha, she has a kit that naturally lends itself to both wide-range nuking and single target priority killing. Contrasting to Nezha, she's much more oriented to crowd control, including being able to animation lock CC-resistant enemies with Loyal Merulina and max efficiency ;)

With a large natural shield pool, she can very easily reach 2.5s shield gate, or close to it, with minimal effort and no shard investment. I use this for my level cap oriented Pillage build. The lack of reliance on shards also gives her an offensive edge over Nezha if you choose to invest in her abilities as an "assassin" or priority killer.

As a priority killer and Influence nuker, she has some powerful interactions with Xata's Whisper, especially with Cascadia Accuracy/Secondary Deadhead, Acuity and Worthy Comradery all scaling Xata's damage unusually highly. Spreading bubbles benefits Influence through multidip, and Riptide has obvious synergies with Influence.

I generally run Furax Wraith Incarnon on Yareli since it's an extremely powerful heavy slam and light attack Influence nuker, and Amalgam Body Count naturally fits Yareli's focus on murdering things with her pistols. I do have a Praedos loadout specifically for Archon hunting too.

Speaking of pistols, what do I personally recommend?

  • Akarius Prime: the generalist secondaries. Good crit stats (finally) so they're versatile crowd clearers, Acolyte killers, object breakers (snow globes, breakable boss parts); they have innate Blast and high status chance.
  • Atomos incarnon: Akarius Prime with an Incarnon battery, but in exchange you can basically use this as your only weapon and leave your primary for utility. Hits like a truck, high overall hybrid stats.
  • Gaze secondary: Deadhead + Seeker, extravagantly high crit tiers. I use this alongside a glaive for Mark of the Beast builds. Prior to the incarnon update Gaze was my main pistol.
  • Sporelacer: I think this has fallen off compared to other radial weapons, but if you're early into SP or pre-SP, this is a deadly weapon, and the best radial battery weapon.
  • Laetum: The crit build used to be close to the status build in performance, but I believe it could actually be stronger now due to Comradery and Acuity. Has a few fun paths like Shiver or Blast + Deadhead.
  • Furis Incarnon: the pistol incarnon of all time. Cranks Yareli's assassin abilities to the max. Has nice synergies with Influence weapons since they provide it with electric procs.
  • Prisma Angstrum: native blast on the non-incarnon means it actually charges twice for each enemy hit by their own blast procs. Shoot it into a riptide for an instant charge.
  • Grimoire: like the Angstrum, charges rapidly with Blast builds. Hits like a truck with Surge builds due to Yareli's extravagant energy pool. Rounds out her support kit with some new toys too.
  • Vermislicer secondary: if you combine this with the Scourge so it can actually headshot, it'll really tickle some brains. Low KPM but exhilirating damage if you're pre-incarnon.
[–] CheeseNoodle 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Any specifics on that gaze build?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Yareli runs Worthy Comradery, and the Gaze has >300% CC. I think due to inheritance bugs, the Seeker bolts have >400%. Same build will work on Vermi too, but you really want the Scourge on that one.

Parts are Splat/Haymaker, but Killstream/Haymaker feels better to use on Seeker builds imo, at the cost of ~10% sustained DPS loss on Charge builds.

I run Tenacious Bond on my Kubrow too, but I think Tenacious Bond Adarza will push it even further.

Can swap electric for heat for armoured factions, but electric is just nice for consistency and laziness.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I've been wanting to give Yareli a serious try for a while now, can't wait until the prime comes out to finally dump all the forma into her. I like the generalist all-purpose frames and with her good CC, DR and damage potential she seems perfect. I wish I liked her aesthetic more though, or that she had a different enough deluxe skin...

No Nukor as a recommended secondary? I thought the increased crit chance would pair well with its high crit damage (although most of that is irrelevant now that we have Secondary Enervate that makes it even more OP anyway)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

As the Nukor is a beam, it doesn't have any wacky interactions with Yareli's passive, so Yareli's passive only promotes it from 7% CC to 21% CC. Ideally if you want to really break Yareli, you strictly use projectile weapons.

One I definitely forgot: the Cestra. It can reach easy tier 6 crits on Yareli.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What are the wacky interactions with her passive, I checked and the wiki doesn't say it does anything special besides just increasing the crit chance additively?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

As of Veilbreaker, we actually got conditional critical checks thanks to Biting Frost, so the old Galvanized Aptitude impact multiplier behaviour spread to crits too. This means Cascadia Accuracy and Acuity are multiplicative to modded crit like Critical Flow on some projectile pistols. Hence why Cestra can get to tier 6 crits.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Maybe it's just been a long work day but can you ELI5 perhaps? What is a conditional critical check? Why do you say "modded crit" when referencing a not-mod source of crit, in this case a passive ability, isn't that the opposite of a "modded crit"? Why would a direct damage increase from Galvanized Aptitude (if that's what you mean by "impact") affect crit chance and get it up to tier 6?

Does this even have anything to do with Yareli or is it just Acuity+Xata's Whisper shenanigans, is it all just exploiting a bug? I don't understand what a simple crit chance increase (on paper) has to do with all of this...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I'm so deep into glitch buildcraft that the things I reference probably sound like fragments from the Necronomicon to normal players, my bad!

ELI5: projectile weapons have a bug where Acuity (and other critical buffs with conditions) causes them to have way more crit than they should.

Conditional crit check: unlike "final crit" like Worthy Comradery, Cat's Eye from Adarza, Covenant from Harrow; and additive crit such as found on mods and passives, these critical buffs have some condition for activating. Biting Frost requires the enemy to be frozen, Acuity requires a weak point crit, Cascadia Accuracy requires you to have rolled to activate the buff, and so on.

Modded crit: I thought this would be less ambiguous than "additive crit", but I just meant "additive crit". The passives essentially function as mods. Except for Nyx, but she's bugged in truly radical ways at the moment.

Galvanized Aptitude: I think I drew in some distracting waffle. Aptitude is the progenitor of all these multiplicative bugs. Essentially what happens is that conditional mods look at the projectile's stats at the moment it hits an enemy (its "impact behaviour" in DE's language), so things that should be additive, like Acuity crits or Galv base damage, are instead multiplied against similar mods such as Point Strike or Serration. Mathematically it's as if the modded, unconditional stats are the new base stats on the projectile.

Why does this have anything to do with Yareli? I guess it doesn't, I just wanted to point out that Nukor is not a good recipient of her passive and got drawn off on a side tangent about certain types of weapons being too good with her passive. You can ignore all that and stop at "Yareli synergises with crit pistols" and that's all she needs.

The gory details are just that her passive is multiplicative to Acuity on most projectile weapons. You don't even need Xata, it just has extra layers of shenanigans with this particular bug, such as double-dipping (and more) Deadhead and Acuity bonuses. Yeah it's just a bug, and it's really just for funny number entertainment value.

You can even just run Eclipse or no helminth at all and call it a day, and Yareli can coast through most content with her gigantic shield pool.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Thanks for explaining, I think I understand now 😁. I never really delved too much into WF theorycrafting because the game is kinda too easy as it is, but I love reading about stuff like this because it is interesting from a development perspective. It seems like they calculate the damage at the moment when the bullet is fired and in this case, once they have to calculate all the conditionals when it actually hits the target, they don't know all the internal parameters for damage calculation so too many things get multiplied? I wonder if it's actually a huge technical undertaking to actually fix this, sounds like the bug has been around for a while after all.

Maybe the real damage nerf DE needs to do across the board is just fixing the damage formula, that would at least somewhat normalize the stats for a change. It seems so easy to take advantage of these bugs even if you dont explicitly go out of your way to abuse them

Oberon, with or without augments, largely feels outclassed by many frames when it comes to doing a specific type of thing like healing or nuking, but still is a fun well rounded Warframe I still love.

I do think he needs a rework though.

Baruuk, my beloved. King of 'fuck it, we ball'. Capable of all content at all levels. Can be full stealth or full tank, both can decide to throw hands with everything and win. I have seen 2000 missions completed as him, I will see many more to come.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

I really want to love Baruuk but the endless ragdolling on enemies is just so annoying >.>

[–] mossy_ 2 points 2 days ago

I love Baruuk so much. I run a high range build with Lull subsumed off and still lose restraint fast enough for storm when I need it. Elude just feels like a better version of Limbo's passive

Sorry for missing the thread last week, here is my Drifter hugging Kalymos as an apology:

Ok time to gush about Frost!

I just love the new Frost+Tenet Glaxion build with all the freeze/cold arcanes and augments, everything just fits so well and it makes for a perfectly balanced well-rounded frame.

You want massively increased crit damage on enemies that are frozen in place?

Do you like infinite energy orbs?

A weapon with excellent ammo economy and awesome looking chain effects capable of freezing and then shattering entire rooms within seconds?

Excellent armor strip and overguard generation on the same ability?

Want to support allies by also giving them overguard and additional cold damage on all weapons?

A built-in helminth slot (rip ability #2)?

A build that actually feels like it has perfect synergy and every part of it plays well with each other?

Want to be universally loved and cherished when you load into a (mobile)defense or excavation mission?

Are you also a very horny individual?

Look no further, give Frost a try!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Frost can't stop winning! Besides excav/defense, he's my go-to for interception and an instant lock for Circuit/EDA.

Just don't hit any killplanes or you instantly lose all of your overguard. :(

[–] mossy_ 2 points 2 days ago

I've seen enough, better buff Frost again. -DE, probably

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

I recently replaced Mag with Frost as my EDA frame. Specifically, I run Silence on him so that Hollow Vein enemies and blitz eximus can't put their powerful nuking abilities through my snow globes. Freeze Force is also amazing for Disruptions.

I love Frost. He's been a godly frame since Veilbreaker, and he keeps getting better over time.

[–] mossy_ 6 points 2 days ago (2 children)

You know who I'm hoping DE looks at next? Valkyr. She has one relatively strong move (sliding attack) on one relatively strong ability (hysteria) but I wish the rest of her claws stance was changed to better suit the style.

Also I guess Warcry is in a healthy position with its augment, but it has the typical "this is a powerful ability but if something else is killing everything then it's entirely unsustainable" style that DE loves to design around

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

I love Valkyr, her prime has been my main for years, modded her up nicely to work as my steel path frame. I live in hysteria and steel path enemies go down in seconds, so I'm often the last one standing in deep archimedea, for instance, having to help other people back up, especially when deep archi has the fragmented one assassination in the mission list.

I have her stuffed full with tau archon shards, kullervos helminth ability, and arcane battery plus the armor needed to support that. I end up with just over a 1k energy pool, when warcry is active and my molt augmented is near its max, so the bad energy economy isn't quite so bad.

But yeah, despite how comfortable I am with her, she's far from perfect. I absolutely would love to have her hysteria moveset reworked so I'm not using the slide as often, plus some other tweaks with the other abilities.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Her finishers are also notably powerful in Hysteria, so you can run Pull to scoop enemies up and oneshot them with a ground finisher.

Does anyone have an Ash setup that they like? He's one of the few frames I cannot seem to find any joy in playing. I've tried Savage Silence Bladestorm and found it incredibly boring to wait for things to die.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Here's my Fatal Teleport/Savage Silence build. Replaced his 1 with Banshee's ability. I just got back into it after a couple years off so there might be some updates but I'm having fun with it. Bring a Huras Kubrow along and you barely have to touch smokescreen. Avoid using it in Railjack missions though sometimes theres a bug that will kick you back out into space. It's fine if it happens on a crewship or one of the assassination objectives but if you're doing a survival or something like that it fucks you.

[–] Jozzo 3 points 2 days ago

I've been having a blast playing Ash support with my whack-ass build here:

  • I use the augment Smoke Shadow to turn allies invisible & give a fat crit bonus to everyone
    • the crit bonus does NOT scale with strength, so I can get away with negative strength
    • the 15m range DOES scale with range, which is the main reason I build for range
    • the 8s duration DOES scale with duration
  • Replaced his 1 with Hydroid's helminth, which works well since we're modding for duration & range. I used to have silence instead, but that was boring! Tempest Barrage is a nice area CC & applies corrosive stacks to all enemies inside, shredding armour.
    • I also use the augment for this, Viral Tempest, which applies viral ON TOP of the corrosive.
      • This one DOES scale with strength, so my viral is not applied 100% of the time (39% with 40% strength). I use Growing Power to get that up to a more reasonable number, if I wanted to plug a forma into him I would slot Power Drift into exilus to boost it further as well (now that I bring this up, I'm formaing him as we speak lol).
    • The AOE corrosive + viral combined with his 4th's slash procs help us deal surprisingly good damage despite negative strength
  • Note I also use an under-levelled Narrow Minded so the range penalty isn't too high
[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

Excalibur is cool and I will never not waste a slot on his exalted blade for life strike to turn his 4 into a heal button
