f BOTH the Buccaneers and Dolphins clinch the final 2 spots in the @NFL Playoffs, a 34-year streak would come to an end.

Since 1990, at least 4 "new" teams have made the playoffs every year.

Right now: Vikings, Commanders, Chargers.

My guess is that "new" teams weren't in the playoffs last year, since both Miami and Tampa were, and the three listed were not.

By context I’m guessing “new” means “team that missed playoffs last year & made it this year”

That is a good question. My first guess was teams that haven't yet won a championship/Super Bowl, but the Bills are in the playoffs and also have yet to win at least a Super Bowl (don't know about pre-Super Bowl era championships).

Minnesota Vikings : 1960 Chargers : 1959 ~~Redskins~~ Commanders: 1932 Buccaneers: 1976 Dolphins: 1966

when I think "new" teams, I think Ravens, Jaguars, Panthers (and Texans (~~Oilers~~))

I think he's saying new as in "not in the playoffs last year" as opposed to "newer franchise"
