Hitting a 15 miler tomorrow. It It will be my first run of this distance since February. I got injured in Feb and it took me out of long runs for months. I have the endurance back now and I'm looking forward to it.
Running
A place for runners.
I went to a local park by myself today and did the trail there. It was 3.22 mi (5.18 km).
It was hell.
The middle 60% of the route was a dirt path. Except it rained recently, and due to ongoing cloud cover the middle 60% was actually mud.
It was like trying to walk on a slip & slide. It was frustrating in the extreme. I persisted because I’m stubborn and not terribly sensible.
Never again will I attempt that trail, even if there hasn’t been any recent rain.
What I do need to do, is find a local park with a dirt path that has better drainage. Jogging on sidewalks is starting to make my feet hurt.
Seems like I've finally stuck with running! I did my first half about a month ago and have registered for another in the spring. I'm following an actual training plan which I hope will help me stay consistent without over doing it. No specific time goals yet, I'll probably try and pick a goal time a few weeks out from the race based on my training runs.
Down at the beach, so did a new Parkrun this morning at Port Arlington. Beach path, had some hills, great view and morning sun. No pb but happy with it.
Been doing sets of calf raises using my porch steps. Seems to be helping with the tired legs.
