Since a few days lemmy.world won't let me log in when I'm using a browser on my desktop computer.

I tried Chrome, Firefox and Edge including private tabs and without any extensions. I enter my username and password and then it prompts me to enter my 2fa token. When I do and press login nothing happens.

It doesn't say it's wrong or was rejected. The login button turns into the circle loading animation and then a second later back to login.

The weird thing is that on my phone it works using apps like Liftoff or chromebrowser.

What am I missing ?

edit:

Okay I feel very stupid now... It appears that for some reason the automatic time synchronization of my Windows computer was not working properly and therefore the OTP codes were out of sync and were being rejected. Lemmy was just not telling me that the OTP codes are wrong. After manually clicking the sync button in the date and time settings it works now.

When I had this issue, clearing all the domain's cookies resolved my issue but I think a private browser session would do the same, so I don't think it's a very helpful suggestion in your case, unfortunately.

Cleared all browser data and explicitly deleted all lemmy related cookies but still have the same behavior unfortunately.

I deleted all cookies and history in FF on Win10 to fix it.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately did not help my case

As said, try deleting your cookies for lemmy.world. Would love to hear if it solved your issue.
