The average American will earn between 1 and 2 million dollars in their lifetime. That means if we tax billionaires based on net worth a measly 0.5%. The revenue coming from Bezos alone would be enough to support 500 Americans for a lifetime.

I've heard of the stepped up basis and "buy borrow die" before. Pretty fucked up
Maybe more of them should visit Manhattan, if you follow.
Yeah, it really should just be taxed at death at whatever the deceased's tax rate is before distribution, and that should go for all property.
Let's keep beating this corpse shall we? We all know. Apparently the only path that garners change is Luigi's.
Luigi is the inevitable end result. It's what happens everywhere. Unions and negotiations are pretty strong in Europa because the alternative was workers burning the factory and the boss's home down with the boss and their family still in there.
Or the nation turns into a complete police state and things get suppressed for a long time to get even more violent somewhere down the line.
It's the bass line of history.
I like to think that it's the bass line from "Another One Bites the Dust"
Except we don't all know. Trump, the poster child for nepo babies, won the popular vote.
Yeah and he is pissed his massive propaganda machine still barely won him that in reality. Only Sith deal in absolutes.
I genuinely don't know what you're trying to say.
That he isn't as popular as he thinks
If we stop beating this corpse, we'll all just be corpses.
The end result of their tyranny is blood, and a lot of it. We can either stop it now, or wait for it to get worse. The for profit heathcare industry needs to end.
A public good is a commodity or service that every member of a society can use without reducing its availability to all others. Typically, a public good is provided by a government and funded through taxes.
Examples of a public good include a town road, park, or school. National defense is a public good. A public good may also be a basic need such as access to clean air and drinking water.
And in most developed countries, healthcare.
It's time for Congress to unrig the tax system and ensure fairness for all.
It's time? What's the point of calling for this when Trump is about to become president and the republicans are about to take control of all three branches of government? Congress isn't going to be helping anybody but themselves.
You're right, but that doesn't mean you should stop calling for it over and over. Make demands, even if you're sure you're never getting them, because if you don't, you're definitely not getting them. If the public keeps voicing its discontent, there's a chance at least, no matter how slim, that they'll concede ground, if only to avoid another Adjuster.
You're right of course, but it's easy to despair that everything is going to get so much worse and it'll be such a lot of work even to begin to rebuild the state after it's demolished in favour of unlimited, unchecked billionaire and corporate power.
I feel that. I'm just trying to work against my own despair.
