And?
Fediverse vs Disinformation
Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.
Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.
What's the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.
By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.
Community rules

Now he's never getting my vote again.
at the rate we’re going, no one is
Not saying I won’t still but there will probably be considerable risk to voting if we do get to again
I'll start giving a shit when Republicans start complaining about all the crooked pardons Trump did.
Yeah, and so?
If I had that kind of power there's no got dang way I'd leave a family member in the tender hands of a group of unhinged political opponents, given the current state of things here.
Like a (R) DOJ wouldn't try to literally crucify Hunter as soon as they had the chance? Please.
Of all the things Biden did and/or did not do, this one isn't even on my list of things to be even a little bit upset over.
Of any lie Biden has told in his campaign or presidency, this is one of the least concerning to me. It's a political witch hint that exists solely to make investigations into Trump and his family look like a witch hunt, because "everybody is doing it".
Biden said what he had to say while he/his party was on the campaign trail, but now it's time for reality to take over.
While I understand his reasoning, this certainly taints his legacy.
This is a serious blow to the perceived credibility of old white men holding positions of massive power.
(Edit - This second sentence is intended as absurdist comedy, since old white men holding positions of massive power are frequently not trusted by the rest of us, for a variety of very reasonable reasons.)
I don't think so. Frankly much worse was keeping Ukrainiane's hand tied behind their back. That war could have been over in 2022. If Ukraine loses this, we will have much harder war(s) in few years and will have our soldiers fighting it.
What upsets me most is that our legal system is so corrupt and unfair. Biden is only acknowledging the reality of the situation.
I don’t like it, but assuming that Hunter would be treated fairly if he wasn’t pardoned is delusional. This was a no-win situation.
