I hope the three girls organise their own thanksgiving dinner and invite their mom.

It's not necessarily about his vote, it's about what it presents. His enthusiasm shows not only is he okay with Trump and his associated behaviour, he's actively advocating for it.

And considering how Trump treats women, anyone who can look their own daughters in the eye and advocate for that POS doesn't deserve them in his life.

Visceral proof that conservatism is a legitimate mental disorder. Good on the kids, they’ll very likely have the outstanding thanksgiving they deserve.

Interesting that he phrased it as liberalism.

merely because they believe my one vote...

He thinks his vote doesn't contribute or something?

Conservatives think consequences are extremely unfair. Everything is an act of god to them.

It isn't because he voted a certain way. It's because the person he supports and his followers make his daughters less safe. The person he supports is a rapist and by supporting him you tacitly condone rape. And the more people look the other way the more accepted it becomes. Your daughter's aren't in danger because of some migrants, your daughter's are in danger because weirdo men want to control their bodies to the point that they'll let your daughter's die to save a fetus. Whether or not you, the father, personally believe these things, you are empowering those that do. You are making the world a more scary and less safe place for your daughters.

Yeah, no wonder they don't want to associate with you. I wouldn't either

My dad is hardcore conservative, identifies as independent. My mom was Democratic, she's now hardcore Republican to reflect the political views of her 4th husband.

I want so badly to just not see any family for Thanksgiving because their political views are so dramatically opposed to mine, but that just doesn't feel right in my heart.

Everyone I love supports things I'm ethically and morally against, but shit dude, my circle of people is already so small. I want to have family and friends in my life, but I also want to surround myself with people who share my values. Unfortunately I have to choose one over the other, and that feels dirty.
