@maegul @fediverse @fediversenews Could you add the Lemmy link, please?
Fediverse
A community dedicated to fediverse news and discussion.
Fediverse is a portmanteau of "federation" and "universe".
Getting started on Fediverse;
- What is the fediverse?
- Fediverse Platforms
- How to run your own community
I foresee many discussion threads in Lemmy/here being crossposted in /r/startrek (aka: Malicious Compliance)
Is /c/[email protected] the corresponding community in Lemmy?
I believe the one the mods created is startrek.website
Come on over
Thanks have found and subscribed :)
@gingerrich Yep, sorry for omitting that detail.
You'll find the instance at startrek.website and their communities here: https://startrek.website/communities, which consist of parallels of r/startrek, r/daystrom and r/risa (ie, normal star trek community, nerdy community and meme community)
@marv99 I mean, there is no such thing as a corresponding community. There are just communities that may or may not have overlapping interests. Things are still too new and shifting for there to be established communities or pairs of communities.
From my understanding though, yes that’s an old or the oldest Star Trek community on lemmy. But that doesn’t mean it’s active.
Ah I get it, thanks for explaining. And sorry for my misunderstanding. I have thought the mods of /r/startrek have created kind of "official substitute" on Lemmy.
@marv99 no need to apologise!! All good!
I think I may have misunderstood you!
They did create an official substitute. It’s a whole separate instance at startrek.webpage. r/startrek, r/daystrom and r/risa have set up parallel communities there. I just created a lemmy account in the server too!
Thanks for the clarification, I will check this server out :)
I'm getting errors trying to reach https://startrek.website/c/startrek However I was able to successfully search for and join the community at [email protected] from my own instance.
Drat, still can't join, at least not from the Jerboa app. Will try tomorrow on web.
If the mods from the subreddit create/run the community or magazine in the Fediverse it is definitely corresponding especially if said mods spread the word on Reddit (which is not against the rules as far as I know)
