I love shakshuka, but only had it as a dinner. I'll have to try it as a brunch. My understanding is it's kind of made with whatever's on hand, but mine looks like yours. It's delicious! We try to make naan or some other kind of bread to go with it, as well.

I just make it with canned tomatoes, onion, garlic, bell pepper, italian spices. If i have some stock left i add a bit and simmer for a few hours. Add cheese, egg and bake. Served with chabata, chorizo and some greens.
If you like spicy, try adding some harissa or gochujang!
Replace canned tomatoes with fresh tomatoes - BAM instant upgrade!
Unless you're using San Marzanos. They're easily as good as fresh.
