oh this has to be a big joke. horns are a safety feature that is required by law to function. it would be technically a road hazard if it were to be disabled, and you wouldn't pass a vehicle test in most states. I really hope this is satire.

Satire is useless in a world where people read this and think it’s a brilliant idea. This exact thing happened with gaming micro transactions where everyday common gameplay features and customisation turned into the pile of crap all, profits-above-all-else companies include. It would not surprise me that there’s a future where this happens to cars for ridiculous features like this.

I'd be willing to bet this article is leaving out some critical information. Horn is a safety equipment. It's not something you can lock behind a paywall. I've found no other information about this except for this article.
