Also it was right after it came back in sale and they were $1000 on eBay. So I was like yeah I need to buy it now! So yeah anyway I spent $800 on a LEGO set lmao
I heard they're retiring that this year and I'm devastated. U can't afford the $800 millennium falcon, much less make room for it.

I’m more of a ‘680 euro Titanic’ kinda guy. I don’t need it, I don’t have room for it currently, but I absolutely do need it.

It’s one of those sets that has a magical attraction to most guys. There’s just something inherently neat about a huge ship.
I also have a bit of an unusual reason for wanting that particular set. Back in the very early 90’s, my uncle was downright obsessed with the Titanic. Absolutely fascinated by how they designed and built it. Owned a set of blueprints, books, etc. This was well before the internet was a thing, much less the movie.
He also had a LEGO titanic that he built over the course of the late 80’s and early 90’s. It was built mostly from your regular rectangular bricks with Technic beams for the portholes and a bit of System for the detailing. It was massive; took up an entire dinner table. It was even bigger than the LEGO Titanic we have today. God only knows how he got his hands on that many bricks in those days. I certainly couldn’t do it today.
The current set looks nicer than his in terms of detail, obviously. But if you’d seen his, you would’ve been impressed for sure.
