Stop worshiping celebrities. They're just regular fuck-ups like us, but with obscene amounts of money.

Case in point, this article was making the rounds months ago, but people were too busy jerking Grohl off about making fun of Taylor Swift for not performing "live" to take notice.

If that concert had instead been held in the spring of ‘24, against a backdrop of layoffs, pay freezes, and rollbacks of people development programs, it would have been a much different story. A much darker story.

But, to paraphrase Foo Fighters front-man Dave Grohl, here we are.

What I can tell you is that even as executives squeeze and sweat and hound rank-and-file Amazonians to scrimp and save every precious dollar, even as they fire quality performers, stall promotions, and stretch everyone to do more with less, someone found enough money to rent out the Ryman Auditorium and pay the Foo Fighters to play a private show for senior leaders.

Dave Grohl isn't one of us, and playing for Amazon top brass after all this shows how completely out of touch rock stars are with every day life and the lives their fans live.

It was consensual? He's not trying to shirk responsibility? (It should be more than monetary, but we should all be doing more to help the next generation)

I'm not letting it taint my appreciation of his music.

Also never revered a pop culture figure anyways, nor been dissuaded in enjoying who I enjoy because of the Internet criticism of them (I rock Smash mouth, nickel back and creed as much as I do dire straits, foo fighters and pink Floyd.)
