I’m considering getting a silicone cover for the steamdeck I’ve just ordered.

I was wondering how snug the fit is with the official carrying case. Would I need to remove the Yono silicone cover to carry it in the steam carry case?

I received the Steamdeck and tried it on, it fits in the case with the sleeve ✅

Thanks for your feedback 🙏

I got a silicon case from a friend so I don't know the brand, but I can confirm that my deck fits in the case with the silicone on. I rarely use it however, I just tried it on now to answer your question.

Epic, thanks for sharing,

That looks exactly like the one I’m interested in

Nice! Glad to help. The silicone is kind of flimsy on my model and makes the Steamdeck kinda unwieldy so you might want to try it out before you buy. That's why I don't use it myself.

The plastic on the deck seems strong and I figured that's good enough for me. When I carry it around I use the case.

I can't directly answer the question, as I don't use one. But I would like to mention that I put on a pair of joystick caps which are frankly pretty thin layers of silicon all things considered, and now the Deck won't fit inside the case unless I firmly hold it closed and then pull the zipper.

The case is designed to fit it very snugly, it would seem! But third-party cases usually have more give inside for covers and joystick caps etc.

Thanks!

I had a look at 3rd party cases and there’s one that stands out: https://www.bol.com/nl/p/beschermhoes-geschikt-voor-valve-steam-deck-hoes-case-eva-foam/9300000165397514?referrer=socialshare_pdp_iphoneapp

A lot of the other cases have a zip to stuff your charger on top of the screen, ouch 😣

I have silicone caps, and my OLED Deck fits just fine in the official case. Dunno what kind the person above is using, but mine are the ones from PlayVital.

It's not that snug.

My silicone case fita in the carrying case and looks the same as this

Also, it was the best purchase I made for my steamdeck since my hands don’t sweat if have it on it

I don't know what brand my silicone cover is, but it looks exactly like this one, and it fits inside the case that came with my steam deck

Are you going to use a dock? You should consider that, too. The case I found did not fit in the official dock.

Not really, I already have a couch Linux gaming pc

It’s mostly for my SO to play games like Terraria together

I have both the Spigen case and the JSAUX modcase, and both will fit inside the carrying case. The modcase one has to have the front cover and kickstand removed to fit however.

That said, I usually only use the modcase with front cover now instead of the original carrying case.

TPU is a porous material, my biggest reason for getting a silicone cover

Good to see another cover that fits in the steam case though
