I'm new to this so I could very well be wrong but contacting the instance admin (Lemmy.world) could be able to help more than the community mod. Otherwise, maybe come up with a slightly different community name to create your own would be a faster option

Reaching out to the admins is going to be the best course of action. If the community has no activity or no recent activity and the mods are unresponsive there is a good chance they will work with you.
